Sony uses 1080p displays because the user can have a better battery life and z5p had 4k resolution on album and videos only thats great why would you want to have 4k everwhere it would just drain the battery and for YouTube app the z5p only shows 1080p but it upscales the resolution to 4k Samsung is just copiing and everyone is amazed

Y... moreYou are mistaken. every pixel is an output and the more outputs mean more complex logic equations that you rom, ram, cpu, controllers ect must handle. You will have a 96×65 pixel screen (only black pixel color) vs a 4096 x2160 screen with miltiple colors. so each pixel has many states to represent all colors. and with a the image refreshing at 120hz compared to nokias 30hz(guess), the processor would need to clock very quickly to print out the lines ~9 million pixels at that refresh rate and thats assuming the cpu can even handle the amount of bits a 4k would require

Y... moreThat's not true. Anything that raises the workload and heat output of the gpu will affect the thermal ceiling of the soc and cpu performance.
Further, a lot of things as far as desktop composition are handled by the cpu on android because a lot of devices have graphics that are not ogl compatible and cannot be relied on.
Saying the 4k won't affect the cpu would be true on the pc side but it is totally inaccurate on the smartphone end of things

You could use an old Nokia display from 1990 and the CPU performance would still be the same.

Dual heatpipes, 30 May 20164K Amoled will use much more battery, because it is a displ... moreThat math doesn't make sense. If there are more pixels but the size of each pixel is smaller and the overall size of the display is the same, then the amount of light needed is the same.
Anyway, Samsung have proven that they can increase the resolution and do it without making the display itself use more power. When Samsung moved to 2k their displays were actually slightly more efficient due to increases in efficiency. So even if the same isn't true for 4k, we can still expect them to do a much better job than LCD displays.

PLUS ,Z5P have upscaling tech better than wasting the battery.

If you read my last post about 2k properly, you'd realise nobody cares who does it first. If HTC decide to make a 4k phone then nobody would think they're copying Samsung who had the 'brilliant' idea to actually release a phone with enough pixels to enjoy vr. Its common sense. But them again HTC would probably use Samsung displays for that.
But anyway, that's not how it works. They just add a bit of Amoled to a 4k display, like adding salt to a dish. Right? Lol.

The Sony z5 premium ONLY used 4k when using the native gallery app. It wasn't used with vr. Sony doesn't have a vr app. Other than that the phone was 1080p like all their other phones. That's why people call it a gimmick.

Samsung has pretty much pioneered that, and now google is stepping in and will make it bigger. Does sony even have a vr headset? Presumably not since the highest resolution they have is 1080p.
