Black Berry got success because of its qwerty but you can not always use one trick ...th time is over. If they launch a phone havin gjust touchscreen we'll like that. Every company is not Apple.

pankos, 07 Jun 2016Nokia had a prototype back in 2011 search for Nokia kinetic... morethe ones complaining about touchwiz probably have not used it? I was a bit heavy .. if you don't use advanced configuration in developer mode.. But that was maybe the case back in S4.. not as much is S2 and S3, S5 was already ok, and s6, s7 are light on touchwiz. I Hate HTC sense, but touchwiz was never an issue for me. I guess it was more problematic for low end devices like Galaxy ace.. but not on high end..

Samsung always releases prototype/un-finished products to users like TouchWiz,where as Nokia never does that.

Akinaro, 07 Jun 2016Nokia was afraid of experimenting? Seriously? Skipping tim... moreCannot agree more. Their management or rather mis-management of their Product line and R&D line was what led to their decline. They amount they spent on their research did not translate into results they had at the end of the year into their products and they started to fall off behind in both terms of Hardware and Software and ultimately they got outdated and they were trying to ride so much on just their Brand name in the later stages that it was not only disappointing but also equally shocking for a fan of their products and their rise to market leader from being behind.

Let's hope it doesn't come with TouchWiz in the photo! :)

ljames, 07 Jun 2016this sounds great. i just hope the implementation would be ... moreReal utility?

To be able to carry around an 8 incher at the size of a 5 incher - that's enough utility to start off!

Real excited of this tech, bigger screens rule!

Skipping times between 1994-2006 where Nokia had HUGE balls to experiment with phones like 7280, 8110, 7650, N-gage or 7610(I recommend checking those phones before you say that they didnt experiment)
But even they latest experiments where WAY before your times just like Flexible Kinetic Screen, in working phone model that they showed in 2011.

Only reason why Mobile devision of Nokia failed is because of greed and putting too much conviction on Symbian and its users. Its not lack of innovating technologies(because Nokia, not only mobile division is still one of biggest) its was nothing more than chaos in their management and greed to make more money using just name "Nokia"

AnonD-237590, 07 Jun 2016Don't buy samsung they never update their devices lolDon't buy cheapest and won't have issues. My s6 edge is always timely updated and now runs latest OS possible. I know that marshmallow as well available on Note 3 and S5... so fairly updated ... Whats is your issue?

this sounds great. i just hope the implementation would be much better than lg with their modular g5. also, i'd like to see real utility with the foldable screens and not just gimmicky features.

Well ... that what you call innovation... Apple - be quick to patent it... as that is only war you can fight - undermine innovations with patent trolling..

Awesome Tech! And for Samsung Haters, they cam up with this concept and working prototype back in 2013 itself.

This is why Samsung prevailed where Nokia has failed. They jumped on the android bandwagon early on and crammed the latest and greatest hardware into their flagship phones. They also weren't afraid to experiment, which has given birth to the Note line of devices and has rejuvinated the stylus in the process. Now they're venturing onto the next step in smartphone technology. The only bad thing about them is that they release too many phones that are almost redundant.
