Better photo of Nokia 5250 found, details still scarce

10 August, 2010
We caught a brief glimpse of the Nokia 5250 back in July and now it's back. New details are scarce but at least we're getting a better look at the phone. The design is freshened up, but the screen seems to be...

Symbian is a laggy OS and will always be even the 3^ is laggy and unstable. If nokia wants to compete with a propreitary OS at least they must develop an OS from sctrach like Samsung did with bada, Bada is an amazing OS, too bad there's not any hackers who are intersting in it right now. nokia will keep going down

The LG is a great offer but the price is way much for people that actually isn't aware of what is buying and is in search of simplicity with some extras.

Lambo, 10 Aug 2010The low end android smart phone is the LG GT540. for £100+... moreyeah and with that price you get probably a free nokia smartphone, for you free isn't cheaper??? In my country you can get the same LG 150 euro pay as you go, and you get nokia 5228 for half of that, isn't that cheaper?? A smartphone for less than 100 euro isn't cheap enough for you??? Are you aware that people that buy that kind of smartphones usually buy dumb phones? That's it, it's magical! A Smartphone for the price of a dumb phone! And there you go why nokia is selling so well...

is the best smartphone OS

SO WHO WINS?
I am not saying we'll
know the winners in this
year or the next. But I do
suggest that the battle
for the smartphone OS
today, is a battle for this
decade and the next, not
just for this quarter and
the next. There will be
winners, and the power
of an Android or
Symbian (and Nokia's
evolution path to MeeGo)
or Bada is far far more
than that with Palm/HP
or RIM or Apple iOS or
even Microsoft Phone 7.
This battle did not start
in 2007 when the iPhone
launched, nor in 2009
when Android launched.
The battle started a
decade ago. The iPhone is
a blip on the radar and is
meaningless in the long
war for the OS. We have
recently seen
newcomers join the
battle, but there was a
time when Microsoft's
Windows Mobile
powered 3 out of every
10 smartphones. There
was a time when Palm
was the world's second
bestselling smartphone.
There are new rivals
today, but the
smartphone was
invented by Nokia. The
giant of smartphones,
when Palm challenged it
was Nokia. Palm died in
that contest. The giant
when Microsoft
challenged for the
smartphone market was
Nokia. Microsoft lost its
2nd place and is today
lingering in 5th place.
The giant when RIM
challenged for it, was
Nokia. RIM growth has
stalled and is now on a
plateau or even
declining. The giant when
Apple challenged it, was
Nokia. Apple's iPhone
reached its peak market
share in 2009 and is now
in decline. Now the
newest challenger is
Android.

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2010symbian can suck it. the declining market share, the epic fail o... moreWell... are you kidding or you can't read??? Froyo isn't available for most of the android phones yet, yeah, I don't spend my days home flashing my phone with the latest hacked OS versions and crying because I don't have a personal life. Anyway, where is froyo in the low smartphone market??? How old are you??? 10??? Need a little help reading what the other people write?

LOW END IS NOT HIGH END!!! Comprende??? You can't compare a 500 euro phone with one that costs 100, is 5 times less!!! And android sucks on a low specs hardware, symbian is fine for that! Do you understand???

Yeah, right, none! And android, gosh is the new iOS, fanboys everywhere praising it God knows why... Bought my first android phone last week, 2 days after it went back, I hated it, sorry but I did, I'm not buying one of these low end symbian but at least the OS don't feel unfinished like android does.
