I need to buy 2 new smartphones and i've waited till now hoping Motorola would announce a competitive amoled midrange phone featuring a SD625, a nice battery (i don't care how thin the phone is), and a 5,2" screen (something that can realistically fit in my pocket). For that configuration and a price tag of 350 Euros...we have a deal. So, today is was definitely a disappointment. For those who are in the midrange market MOTO has nothing to offer. A huge gap between the SD617 (28nm LPP and not as energy efficient as SD625 causing overheating issues) and the SD820.

modular smartphones are a gimmick. battery goes empty to fast? then recharge it. better sound? Seriously, they might just have a better DAC/amp built in.
oh, but that way you can make more money with some expensive gimmicks. the people are so dumb for hyping modular phones.

Suddenly phones have gone modular....and ditches the headphone jack....We will again see a phone with same design, same UI and all, with just a difference of earphone jack on June 13.

I have never wanted a phone that thin, it makes it difficult to handle and I am in fear of bending it. Why not just put a bigger battery which 99% of people want?

AnonD-137201, 09 Jun 2016Wow...
Lenovo just finished Motorola...I actually think they might of pushed them down a hill, the 3.5mm jack is a stupid idea, you shouldn't take it off the phone yet and the phone looks ugly, if you put the magnets backs the phone looks alot nicer.
Lenovo really took them in a direction where they will struggle to come back from.

last year's moto x style, moto x force had same screen..
if they are saying they will work next year it means they will stick to same display size, kinda like 5.1 inches for s5, s6, s7. is it so hard to get.

It wouldn't hurt them to make a camera module with Optical zoom. It would be cool af

Whilst I agree with others on here that the lower bezel is a terrible design I do like the rest of it. There are issues - some obvious, some less so - but then which phone doesn't?
The standard Z is too thin, it makes the camera very vulnerable and has meant the battery has to be shrunk (more on that in a minute).
The Z Force is going to be Samsung/LG expensive, just like the last one (I'm speaking from a UK phoneshop point). Despite being thicker it still retains the camera hump too.
Now, the 2600mAh battery is - no matter what - too small. However there are always arguments for this not being as bad as it sounds since - as most people 'in the know' are aware - a lot of the power efficiency is born from the software. With a well optimised Android it could well last as long as other phones. I will add here that the qHD screen is just a battery waster at this size. Anything under 7", stick to FHD.
The pricing and availability will mean a lot for this

Why Moto Z will be available in September? Instead of september they can release on december. So that they can achieve with "0" in number of sales. Dont know who is required 2600 mAh battery for QHD display. May be they are targeting who is not using mobile phone more than an hour for a day. What about Z play with SD625? Hope Asus will overtake Lenovo with SD625, SD650 and SD820 Zenfone 3 phones. Now lenovo completely achieved their target (to ruin Motorola)

It's thin and low battery as you can just add the addon to the back witht he bigger battery and then it's as thin as other phomes and then change as needed, that why it's thin

I am still not able to figure out why are these companies going behind slim and thin profile by decreasing the battery .... come one guys.
