Have you played with Meego to rate it as worse, plus it's pure Linux? Worse design, subjective. I actually think it looks much better than X10. How is it 1 year late, do elaborate?

No no noooo...it needs 3 ghz processor and minimum of 3gb RAM ..and please a 128mb video card will be nice too! Oh oh...and please LOTS AND LOTS of APPS!! I can't live without my NFL app, and my how to have sex APP..and all that good stuff

rebel, 24 Aug 2010again late nokia!8mp camera more then 1 year behind the oth... moregalaxy s is considered a best smart phone nowadays which has only 5mp camera witn no flash.so 8 mp or 12 mp is not outdated.nokia n9 is about new OS meego and 8mp camera is well enough as there are not much camera based phone in the market

Android might be the hit now, but even then, there might be another, isn't it? At least, give Meego a try... and there could well be a major development of quality applications.
I wouldn't mind on more MP resolution, but the sensor size for its Image Quality.
I would like a better ratio of specs/price, improving functionality & speed, a better Qwerty Kboard as in the N900, Skype availability, dual SIM and gyroscope... is it too much?

again late nokia!8mp camera more then 1 year behind the others 12mp as well and wvga screens are pretty normal for a some time. overslept innovation nokia

181g is heavy for a Linux device???
Overclock the N900 using the lower voltages and the battery is more than enough. Stop complaining like a spoiled brat.

Do you know why all Nokia branded handsets technologically are a bit late and overpriced(compare to Samsung & LG)?
because those Korean companies(and now SE)not only produce all component they need for their handsets,this edge over others secured them controlling quality=less failure rate+cutting costs for sake of comparison look what happened to HTC?!Samsung said no more AMOLED and that's all and Nokia is no different buying cams+chips+CPUs+displays+...=no quality control=high price range.
I don't know if this photos are fake or it's a proto but every one must admit with N8 waiting for launch at least a few months later N9 will receive green light of launch and i can barely see in that time this specs are forgotten.let see if new OS or price can push this phone or not.

Nokia will NEVER use Qualcomm;s chips 'cos they've had nasty lawsuit with them over UMTS licensing!
this device can and will have Texas Instruments or ST Micro ARM v7 capable SoC!

I respectfully disagree about the hardware specs.
Why?
1. At the end of the second quarter of 2010, NOKIA sign contract with ST Ericsson for their ST-Ericsson U8500 dual core chipset. That mean that the Finnish company have in mind to use it in their devices.
2. It's not popular move, the successor of N8 to have lower specs - lower camera, lower Bluetooth - 2.1 instead of 3.0 in N8. Also the leaked photos shows 8MP camera with dual LED flash.
I'll be very pleased if there is really 64GB on board, but i'm not sure that 512MB RAM will be enough for MeeGo.
On 4" display i expect higher resolution that nHD.
