24 August, 2010
Nokia are having a hard time keeping their unannounced prototypes to themselves lately. Even their upcoming MeeGo-running flagship managed to escape their R&D labs and was caught in the wild last week...

Hey kids, 24 Aug 2010Stop calling it a "phone". This is not a phone, h... more@ Hey kids hmmmmmm the last time I checked the main function of a cellphone is to make and receive calls. It also has the huge advantage of being portable as opposed to landlines and I know for sure that the 5250 will be able to perform its basic function........so in the end it is definitely a phone and you're an idiot!
Not everyone needs a fancy phone with the latest/best features. As far as I am concerned no one will ever truly have the best phone with the latest features since no cellphone in the world is perfect and technology is rapidly changing. People like you make the world such a difficult place.

i can't believe that some people find this phone too big or too heavy or with low res camera when most of their samsung-htc-motorola-apple latest phones are plastic bricks and 95% of them have 5mp camera or less.

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2010Do the N810,N800 and N900 ring a bell with WVGA screens??? ... moreNo offense and i admit that Nokia us still a big player in handset industry(however a dying one).
these aren't innovation because others launched several handsets with high resolution cams back in late 2008 and early 2009 so nothing new or to say "innovative".
do you really think purchasing components, put them altogether and launch as a phone is innovation?!
No sir! whats in the innovation that others already done?!exactly what kind of innovation is behind buying 12 or so MP lens's from others, put it in your device?!
                        nothing!
                        Topic:after N8 with high end spec's expected N9 to max out N8. but...no i was wrong.

                        ...Cheers from Germany.

                                  Snapdragon? Very unlikely...
Nokia has a partnership with ST Ericsson, a company that has already built and delivered a reference platform to the Symbian Foundation. The platform is based on a dual Cortex A9 processor and allows full HD video recording and playback, it also supports high resolution displays, and with that i mean higher res than the iPhone 4.

So why should Nokia use the lower frequency, single core CPU on their high-end MeeGo running devices while running the dual core A9 on lower-end Symbian devices? As i said, very unlikely, but not impossible...

Older N9 prototype that appeared a month ago on youtube with symbian^3 apparently had 640x360 resolution. Actually it wasn't even marked as N9. However, this new prototype, not only have different OS, it also has different display aspect ratio, roughly 1:1.9 (previous 640x360 prototype had 1:1.77 ofc). Question is which resolution has aspect ratio of 1:1.9 ? 800x480 is 1:1.66, 854x480 is still only 1:1.78, 960x480 (used on iP4) has 1:2.
