toorop, 27 Aug 2010In the business world: Only iPhones ans BlackBerry In the ... moreHah,
I am always amused by people saying that Blackberry and iPhones are business phones. Yet, it seems that advertisement slogans just rule the market.

In my company, there are way over 1000 employees. Sure, some of them own a Blackberry, others an iPhone. None of those devices have been given out as a business phone and those employees are not allowed to put business stuff on there.

The few who got a phone from the company received a WM based phone with slide-out HW keyboard.

      About the C7:
I am a little bit upset with Nokia to put out so many 'alike' devices! Why would there be a need for a downgraded version of the N8? In fact, the concept of having a touchscreen phone only with only minimalistic hardware buttons is not really the non-plus-ultra! Especially not if the entire phone market seems to go in the same direction and the only difference on the devices would be in the end a slightly faster CPU or a few more megapixel in the camera.

For occasionally sending a text message or email, a full touchscreen device is fine, yet, if you want to do a little bit more, a hardware keyboard is needed.

I personally own a HTC HD2 - beautiful device, powerfull CPU, even full Office Mobile integrated. Still, typing on the screen renders it rather useless for a business device - still waiting for the perfect device which will manage to have a large screen + hardware keyboard ... !

toorop, 27 Aug 2010In the business world: Only iPhones ans BlackBerry In the ... moreI agree with you. Even winmo will stand a better chance in the business world than symbian. I see symbian as a good phone for developing countries. Blackberry is still the king in the business world, with the iphone coming in 2nd, and android coming in close to tie with the iphone in 2nd place. The iphone is still the king in the high end, multimedia, touchscreen segment, although android, specifically the samsung galaxy s, is closing in as well. Symbian will still rule in the low end segment, and ties with android in the mid class segment. But symbian is still the king in 3rd world countries where all users would sacrifice good quality just to get music, videos, and apps for free, lol.

This phone would be more successful than the n8 due to its more affordable price. This would be a great alternative phone for those who are short of budget, yet want a capable phone, but can't afford a high end device.

The n8 will not do well. Why would users buy an n8 when they could get a better performing phone in the n8's price category? Only die hard nokia fans would prefer the n8 over more capable phones like the galaxy s, htc droid, nexus one, iphone4, evo, and motorola droid. Want proof? How's the n8's preorders going?

                                      looks good, well done Nokia

we need competition for better prices/products (Nokia will force other companies to release high-specs phones)

and I TOTALLY support Symbian^3 on this device for one reason: native apps availability

more phones with S^3, more developers/applications for this OS

owners of Nokia N8 & C7 will share same "native" programs that runs on both devices.
