well the SE k800 is a winner when we talk abot the colours in the photos, they are very natural, but when we talk about the clarity of the photos i think the nokia wins,it also makes good pictures but they are often under-exposed and a bit oversaturated Both fones are great and i wouldn't mind having any of them in my pocket :)

"NOT ALWAYS ! Besides, you can chose to zoom 4x or 8x"

seriously, are you even into photography at all? try telling any self-respecting photographer that a 20x digitally zoomed photograph might turn out decent, and he will just laugh his head off. even 4x OPTICAL zoom in mid-range point and shoot digital cameras hardly deliver good results. the best digital zoom implementation i've seen in a mobile phone is probably from the samsung p850.

Who use digital zoom to take photos????? talk about me optical zoom but digital zoom is useless to people who takes quality photos. 20x and 16x digital zoom is gimmick, for me isnt important in a camera.
And the winner in photo quality is K800, and be objetive with your posts, K800 and N80 belongs to different market classes and cant compete between them.
Probably the battle between N73 and K800 will be interesting, Carl Zeiss versus Cyber-shot!! I wait for this!! (For people who says that CZ is better remind the case of brick N90 vs K750)

20x DIGITAL zoom is a gimmick. at 20x zoom, what you see is just a blurry mess.

NOT ALWAYS ! Besides, you can chose to zoom 4x or 8x

It might just be my imagination, but I think there is a clear SE bias on this website. I don't think I've ever seen a Nokia/SE head on comparison where Nokia has come off better, especially where camera quality is concerned. Whether this is just in my head or not, I have to say frankly that I really don't see or understand the big deal about SE's "better" quality pictures. Perhaps if you're a trained photographer and really examining picture quality then it might matter, but all this ranting by the website about its "superior" quality bemuses me. I can't see a real discernable difference, certainly not that it would affect my decision over whether to buy the SE instead of the Nokia. The pictures look to be of roughly equivalent quality and clarity. Besides, SEs routinely crash, are generally ugly in design and require you to keep the manual with you at all times. I've never understood the obsession SE has with making their phones as difficult to use as they possibly can. But in the final analysis, the article cheats us a bit, by focusing so much on the camera comparison. Frankly I tend to use my mobile for taking video far more often than for taking pictures, and the quality of video is always the most important factor for me in choosing a mobile. Who cares if you have a mobile that can take ok still pictures, when you can have pretty clear moving pictures with reasonable quality video. So I guess in the end it just depends on whether people are obsessed with camera quality and what not. Overall, the N80 looks more attractive, is more reliable, better designed, and offers more satisfaction on a user basis than the SE, at least insofar as it is presented. Now, if I can just get those idiots at Nokia to give me an "always on" option for the flash, and keep successful features/innovations in previous handsets in subsequent ones, then I would be happy. BTW, anybody know what the difference between video resolution of 640x460 and 352x288 is? I think this website should try harder to explain the difference between the two, and concentrate on video as well as pictures.

If you think the picture quality betwwen SE and nokia are the same then my brother you are delutional. All nokia has been doing is making crappy phones which when compared to SE we see that. people natural don't use video as much as camera, so camera is more important than video. You say SE occasionally crashes? Boy you are a liar!!! I have heen using SE how many years now and have not experienced any of these crashes. As for User Interface nokia is using the same thing sony has had since T68i. So why not call nokia a set of theives. Don't forget that symbian is slow and that 20x zoom is retarded, even at 4x zoom you can already see picture deteriation. Which only gets worse with more zoom. Another thing what the hell is up with the 180 g phone????? Are those what we call bricks?

i think that nokia n-80,deserves to be the winner because, it gots the maximum clarity, also it has a 20x digital zoom, which is not there in s.e,k.800. moreover its screen resolution is max in nokia's recent cell,[accept 9500,9300,9300i,7710,tablet] b'coz they can't be categorised with cell's ,bcoz their aim is different one is communicator, whereas other is pda. so i think n80 desreves to be the winner,if it doesn't ,then also i'll be liking it ,same as i do now!!!

                  best buy nokia n80 - rs.26500 only!!!
wait two & a half months to its priced fall if u wnt to buy it 2-4 thousands cheaper.

Super review, very comprehensive; I just bought the N80 and was concerned on the pic quality over the K800 that I was considering. also, the Video info was very helpful. All in all I feel the N80 offers more overall. Now how about Nokia's N73 w/3.2 mp camera.......HAd a software crash, but al the data was saved to phone memeory, pics, music. Rebooted & no problem.THANKS!

I like the SE over the Nokia. The SE looks better, pictures are sharper and its more pimp. Nokia has been putting a lot of crappy looking phones out. Hope they get a new design department.

"i prefer N80. i like the design. and nokia phone is easy to find software. u can download those software from many website by free."

well, shows how much you know, or rather, don't know about the n80. old symbian apps won't work on the newer series of symbian that is being used by n80. the n80 cannot use sis apps, only can use sisx apps. so please do not mislead others with your misinformation.

with regards to video, maybe sony ericsson will come up with a Handycam version? lol.

"nokia it self is a very unique brand, when we buy a phone we not only look forward about camera.we thinks about the programme installaton too.In nokia we can instaLL different programs like smart movies, games:but sadly, in sonyerricson we cant do such thing. my question is, can we install programmrs to K800?"

that statement is only true for nokia's symbian smartphones. you can also install programs for sony ericsson's UIQ pda phones such as the P900 series. anyway, some java apps are already very good, such as Opera Mini and eMsn. also, smartphones tend to be more laggy than non-smartphones.

As I went to each picture and compare it with the same one from another phone, I should say that SE K800 take better pictures but it's a big looser in video section. However overall N80 will be a better choice!

I own a K750 and I'll be keeping it until SE gets their heads out of their asses and produce a multimedia handset worthy of being called highend on ALL levels.
