Sony-ericsson is nothing without the sony technology. Hence the name "sony ericsson". It is one brand. So is Nokia. Nokia is always behind when it comes to technologically advanced phones. Sony ericsson haven't really changed their layout over the past few years but why is this bad. It doesnt mean their phones haven't changed. They're way more advanced

I think nokia is the best mobile brand. Sony-ericsson is nothing without sony technology. If i wanted k800 for its camera, i would prefer bying a sony digital camera. Anyway, N80 is the best and nokia fans expect a full review of it. Please make it soon...we are expecting.

Hi, people! I must say that once again SE is better than Nokia. Nokia does take good pictures, but not good enough. They are too "cold". But let's not forget that SE has a great background with all the cameras from Sony (especially Cybershot). I have a SE K750i and i must say it a great phone and a great camera. It does take great pictures and it's very handy. SE rules!

Ok people. Since this is a camera comparison thread I have to say that k800 is way better than any Nokia phone so far. On the other hand video recording is a big plus for N80, however I would prefer buying a camcorder for the same amount of money that I can buy N80 for. The beauty of mobile phones with a good camera is that it is always handy, whenever you want to freeze that special moment, and therefore K800 is again better, so video recording should not be understood as significant advantage!

This megapixel fever in phone cameras has to stop eventually. So far, Sony has the edge in this domain. I've said it before and i'm going to say it again: Sony needs this edge otherwise they will take the same path Ericsson took a while back. Sony is lucky with their vast experience with CYBERSHOT cameras and camcorders. NOKIA has signed a 2 year agreement with ATI to improve phone graphics and will use Carl-Zeiss for ALL their upcoming cameras(because not every top of the line model from Nokia has Carl-Zeiss optics). This should worry competition because Nokia tackles multimedia with the best graphics manufacturers on the market. Let's keep this convo mature and leave "flaming" to silly plonkers.

most of you seems to have forgotten that this thread was meant to be a comparison of the camera quality, and the k800i clearly wins. n80 will definitely win in terms of features, but that is not the purpose of this thread. only if the 903sh and p850 are thrown into the review, then we can have a better comparison.

n80 is a better phone as a whole..
because it has more advance features...
does the k800 has a Wifi nor a UpnP... nah!!!!
and even though SE has better quality pictures, when you will compare it directly, nokia will still have nrighter pictures because of its resolution advantage..
look at the screen of k800... so small compared to n80... the picture will just be slightly better if u will transfer it to the pc...
and nokia is very user and application friendly...
and SE k800 is so cheap...
n80 is more elegant when it comes to design...
so in short, n80 rules!

It's unbelieveable how personally people take comments about their favoured mobiles!
I remember the Super Nintendo - Megadrive debate of the late 80s. Hilarious!
The SE K800 clearly is better on the photos, but as an all-round handset..? I'm not so sure.

First of all, I have to test phones on my own. After it I will make a full and impartial conclusion. BUT, I'm agree with the authors saying that K800 shoots photos better IN GENERAL than N80. Despite, I didn't see any influence of autofocus in K800 and there were some fotos which won exactly N80. SE shoots in more natural gamma and brightness with the same quality of picture - the only its adventage upon N80!!!! IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMAIN Nokia HAS GOT MUCH MORE POWERFUL VIDEOS!!!! Summarizing, NOKIA N80 IS BETTER PHONE THAN SE K800.

To the guy that says that SE crashes, I am gonna call you a liar flat out. I have had SE phone for a long time and have friends with SE , they make no complains of crashes. As note that the termonology of crashes would refer more to a smart phone than a non smartphone. Also about battery life of SE, all battery life figures i have seen is in hours, e.g. 9hrs, 7 hrs and 16 hrs for P 910. So charging your phone everyday because oh have use is common. I have a W800 and I charged it Friday night and used it for Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Can't ever remember getting that out of my 6230. Also Symbian is slow and buggy so expect more crashes from the Nokia. I now noticed that nokia seems to have abandoned there picture based menu and now use an icon based menu, Funny SE has been using that UI since my T68i days. Also i see nokia has been doing alot of imitating as of lately, since the razr i've seen countless new flip phones from nokia, since D500 i've noticed some slider phones from nokia.
I say yet again Guys, i tell you phone as now adays Music players and cameras. Wi fi doesn't make sence on phones. If you know what wi fi is you would know you have to be in a hot spot in other words be stationary. Its good on a laptop because when using a laptop people a stationary, but now on a phone are you going to be stationary or mobile? I'm guessing mobile so wifi isn't really useful. Not to mention along with paying an extra $100 for for a wifi phone over the ericsson phone, you now have to paying for wi fi access. It's far better to stick with gprs, might now be a fast as wifi but its hell as sure way more reliable.
