Curved display is an absolute dealbreaker for me.
My aging Note 3 is coming up on that replacement timeframe. It's bad enough that the battery is not user replaceable. But I was going to deal with that by having a portable charger available.
Curved screen is however completely useless for me. And if it does compromise structural integrity, like others mentioned below, then i'm going back to HTC.

That's great. Beautiful and better for one-hand use.
But I'm more concern about the removable back and IR.
Otherwise I'll stay with my Note 4

Anonymous, 29 Jun 2016I think you missed the part that Note 7 has faster chipset,... moreIt also has a more efficient chipset. The s7 had a 10% bigger battery than the s6 and the battery life was roughly 10% better. The note 7 has a 20% bigger battery so you should be able to expect 20% better battery life.
I don't know why you think the edge is going to influence battery in any meaningful way.

The who... moreSamsung doesn't use a unibody. And they got rid of removable battery because the market forced them to move to 'premium' materials that meant you couldn't have it without building a poorly built device like lg did.
Samsung were one of the last to move away from plastic, and a lot of people criticised the s5 for using plastic. So naturally, they listened to what consumers wanted and used glass instead, and sales went up.

Will the Samsung Galaxy Note7 have MHL capability so that I can mirror video and photos to a TV screen? Without that, I wouldn't be interested.

TN, 29 Jun 2016The S7 Edge can last 16H, with about 3H SOT, and 300MB data... moreThat's pretty bad on battery performance. My 2yrs old OnePlus one can easily last a day on normal usage, SOT 3:30hrs with 40% left, started off from 95%.

A curved screen looks good but having used an edge device i don't see the point. It makes it weaker and reduces the usable screen space. Not a deal breaker but i would get the flat screen over an edge if both were available. Please give both options SAMSUNG.

The whole metal unibody is following apple
Nonremovable battery following apple
Apparently people do noy realise what a removable battery is
I for one didn't care at first but now my note device after a year has the battery becoming old and requiring a new one.. what would i do if i had the note 5? Some may say it is easy to replace but in reality it isn't most likely you'll get a phone with dust in it or maybe even scratches.. i don't get the point of unibodies
What lg has done with the 5 is a very good one.. metal with a removable battery
But everyone seems to have bashed them for it.. they prefer it the apple way.. buy a phone this year and be forced to upgrade the next year

AnonD-552529, 29 Jun 2016Curved - More fragile. Should use a external case to keepni... moreThe S7 Edge can last 16H, with about 3H SOT, and 300MB data usage, with some 25% left. I kept a spreadsheet for the last 43 cycles and that's the average. The power hold seems to be declining to about 80%. Meaning, it use to be 15-20% better in the first week. Always expect a decline, or the degradation of the battery.
This is why I prefer removable battery, and I love using extended batteries.

This Edge Screen nonsense is ridiculous .
I hate this BS Edge Screen Trend. I broke S6 Edge Plus by dropping just 2 ft on carpet with a spigen expensive case and the screen shattered. I had to pay 260 $ for screen replacment
Sold it and bought a note4 and since them i am happy. Its time to move on to Mate9 or some other brand . To hell with you Samsung

ReticentHamster, 29 Jun 2016I don't really think this proves anything. We've seen plent... moreI bought my wife an S7 Edge, and the curved screen usefulness is absolute zero. It increases the chances of breakage.
The only reason I highly recommend the S7 Edge is its battery. It could last her with her light use, but not for people like me who use smartphones heavily.
