RC255, 01 Jul 2016There are millions of users and devs out there who will str... moreMillions? Maybe hundreds. Nobody important associates android with security. Android is a mickey mouse OS, just the simple fact that any brand can utilise it is testament to that, all android offers is a wide variety of apps which google does not even own. Stop fooling yourself.

3:2 should be 1920x1280, if the screen is 4.5" the device should be 75mm to 80mm large, more than a S7 active, less than a Passport, it should be a nice compromise for a nice physical keyboard (unlike the Priv). But problem is actually nobody product this kind of screen, so I'm affraid the device won't come at low price.

It's time for BB to again capture the market like it did with the low price BB curve. Pricing is the key for mass penetration. OIS 10 is kool. The basic reasons that IOS and Android are thriving is because it allows multiple apps download. It's not rocket science and BB should accept what people wants and not the other way round

I, too, agree that BB should NOT throw away their solid, buttery smooth, BB10 OS. They should more aggressively court app developers. How about this for a market test: equip the keyboard-toting Mercury with BB10 (no Android) and sculpted keys like on the Classic? A Q1 2017 launch date gives BB six months to increase the quantity of installed apps and aggressively market it! There are people who appreciate their secure Blackberry's, who don't use their cell phone as an entertainment device. Just a suggestion...

If you want a 'serious' OS then go to Windows or Blackphone's modified Android OS if you want security. BBOS fans will have to accept that BB messed up and couldn't catch up and thus lost. They still have their own little tweaks but now the base is Android instead. http://thenextweb.com/mobile/2016/05/23/devs-can-stop-making-apps-for-windows-phone-and-blackberry-os-now/#gref
You want an OS? You have 3 choices; Android, iOS or Sailfish - which is doing well lately. (I haven't included Tizen, Firefox or Amazon due to lack of information.)
