This is a good development and all, considering dual-core CPUs are just even being talked about last year, but I hope they break the 1GHZ barrier soon, so that smartphones can be just as powerful as laptops/netbooks and could have the capability of running the full windows/MAC OSes...

umm.. galaxy s last 4 hours in heavy usage. With such a monster inside we will need a truck batery just to boot the phone.

(formerly panasonic-hitachi made some attemps in the high end IPS monitors)

aside from panasonic and LG , I don't think any other company hold this patent right now

the older chip sets supported only double display controller ( I think like the one used in N900 )
my sony camera has only one display controller so you can't preview your pics on the tv and the camera display in the same time

samsung should implement them in its upcoming tablets and Netbooks(instead of intel atom) because such gadgets have bigger batteries to support this hardware
And if they intend to use it in mobile handsets, they have to find an alternative os to andriod because no matter the andriod will be in the future it wont need all this powerful hardware
nokia has already found its symbian alternative (maemo and meego)which can utilize the full capability of the new TI-omap

also, Qualcomm processors are quite pricey for what it provide
I think Ti-omap processors (mostly used in nokia)give the best value for their prices .
this is one of the fundamental reasons why Nokia handsets come in a very reasonable prices

Phones, Phones, Phones, Where the PDAs at?
They are old school but phones are annoying when you put all your information on it like 700 calender notes, 250 addresses, 200 songs, 2 movies, 100 photos. The phones will be ssssslllllllooooooowwwww. PDAs always kept up with me. I used the HP Ipaq and 3 Palms and they were perfect. But when I put all my info on a smartphone it got slow and useable right when you need it. It happened to me when I wanted to give a phone number to my dad and it took longer then 1 minute to get the number. Thats too long.
They should make a high end phone with the basic OS and no extra software. Perfect!

W0w 1 ghz dual core process0r on a mobile phone, i think the purpose for a dual core gpu is to encode/decode 1080p video.. Amazing... But it only drain the battery so fast. So they must pr0duce a uranium battery for this to last the battery life up to 10 years .. lol!

to 1ghz which is unsafe
cause
there are a few phone with the same CPU as the iphone 4 but not at the same clock speed
but that has changed over the few months
N900/1.2ghz
