Hp will not focus on consumer market bc win10os don't have that much potential as compared to android. Consumer market need new features and depend on every small thing. But ignore malware. Enterprise market need security and win10 is best here. Consumer don't need continum. I think this feature is ahead of time. Not every people need it. So Microsoft failed in consumer market. Let us see what happens in enterprise market.

Here is the value proposition for the enterprise customer: 1) potentially one device to purchase and manage that might replace phone/tablet/laptop, 2) leverage investment in Windows application development, 3) enable mobile applications without introducing a new platform (iOS/Android) to develop and support. The downside is the lack of some native application support. Based on the speculation, this phone is comparably priced to other high end devices like iPhones and the Galaxy Note 5. I'm guessing that HP is not at all interested in the consumer market for this device so those that "will never buy it" because it doesn't play Pokeman are not in the target market for this device anyway.

Just read the specs and this phone is a beast! The price is justifiable but it's still quite expensive especially for a Windows 10 Mobile phone.

AnonD-273829, 10 Jul 2016you are out of your mind then. no one buy this in this high priceThe main reason this phone exist is for enterprise, there is no mainstream marketing cost, making all the money go to the development. HP Partners already showed interest, this is the cause of continuum of windows. Don't go try preaching around that no one is going to buy this, when in fact the interest for this kind of technology was the reason this phone materialize.

AnonD-196068, 10 Jul 2016I must admit I mis-read the Euro sign for Dollars initially... moreWhatever the reason companies are already committed to an operating system.

It only makes sense to have another or same model using say Windows (Say Samsung on Android) If your Windows phone makes a lot if money also

(Not technical but in the UK TWO washing machine detergents aka soap powder) if you switch you are 50/50 buying another product made same company.)

So Nokia with Symbian being owned could determine what features it wanted in its Keypad smartphone

So Nokia moves to a Windows platform to continue this 'philosophy'
This is where things get really messed up and I mean messed up

Android dominates the smartphone market, BUT Windows could be said to be universal on Laptop & PC
With a dominance in PC /Laptop how that has not meant Windows smartphone apps not be released by third-party is criminal
I don't have an explanation but as you can see Google Applications being the newest O/S were created from scratch

You can pin a URL to the Home page but it seems almost a conspiracy that many developers came our with ios & android

AnonD-196068, 10 Jul 2016I must admit I mis-read the Euro sign for Dollars initially... moreThe reason the 950/950XL is over priced is because of the iris scanner. The 950XL also has the vaper chamber to keep the 810 in line. It has the best implementation according to notebookcheck where it had the least throttling out of all the 810 phones out there.

But it was an enthusiast/reference phone. The idea of the reference phone is to let OEMs follow designs that can be created thanks to windows 10. The next phone will also be a reference point for OEMs and for enthusiasts. Premium prices with premium tech. And of course like any tech the more implementations the cheaper it gets. Samsung adding Iris scan to it's newest note will surely drive the price of the technology down and it will likely enhance it as well. I love the iris scan. I have optimized it so it opens in about 1 second and at decent angles/distance. The samsung one will probably be even better. But I love authenticating apps/wallet with the iris. It may not be as convenient as finger print but it's more secure. Having both a finger print scanner and iris is neat but I think that MS would do better by allowing security zones. Iris scanner can be added to zones you find to require more security like purchases etc.. Finger print for unlocking device. I already sent them a suggestion on this sort of implementation for windows 10.

S7 edge yay, 10 Jul 2016Here is a part article on the Lumia 950 It received a pri... moreI must admit I mis-read the Euro sign for Dollars initially and that does make the price of this high but not excessive. The RRP price quoted here is almost exactly the same as the Samsung S7 Edge if you convert to UK Pounds. The point I was making was simply that if this had Android on it and managed to get in to the major supply chains it would do very well. However, MS have shot themselves in the foot. For ages they put out low or mid range devices with virtually no high end at all. The 950 and 950 XL took about two years to finally be a viable upgrade to its top end predecessor. By then it was too late, MS had created an impression that everything WP was cheap, consequently this is perceived as over-priced. For sure it is highly priced but I would not agree totally when you compare this to its Android equiavalents with similar hadrware specs.

I think that hp knew that they will not sell a lot of this.I am curios about the camera and the screen.kinda pricey for me...and I don't think that after 1 year they will shave more then 100-200 euros off.Atleast with android, after 1 year you get the price cut in half.In my humble opinion wp>android because android cant work on snapdragon 400 with 1g Ram like my 640 do.

The Windows Store is not a problem for me, as I only use about 40-50 apps, and the ones I found are mostly better than their Android/iOS versions. (i.e. ability to play Youtube vids without ads, play it in the background while using other apps, and playing under lock screen.)

Android just turns every phone into something mediocre, with all its bugs, massive security holes, clunky interface, unorganized menus, submenus, subsubmenus, subsubsubsubsubmenus etc., and the poor memory, CPU, and storage management. Not to mention the needed weekly restarts and the factory resets every 6-8 months or so - in order to have the OS run like in its first day.

I prefer reliability and ease of use instead of a large selection of apps.

I will rather go for 2 pieces of Xiaomi Mi 5S.
