11 July, 2016
This should make its recently announced UFS card lineup a lot more useful in the future.

First record that much stuff , put it on internal memory then wait for a decent internet connection to upload it to a cloud service which will provide you that much space. And what about battery life ?

Expandable and removable storage is still much more reliable and convenient and practical than cloud storage. The ONLY valid reason not to include it in phones is that it would hamper the phone's performance for the lack of speed of even the fastest micro SD. So with this, no more excuses left for phone manufacturers except for greed.

So with UFS/SD adapter ten it can be used as a USB.
if I read it right (write lol) the speed dwarfs USB 3

Again my mind is racing ahead so from the comments Apple i would say CAN'T or won't be IMO
Unless Apple can prevent a lower 32Gb UFS being swapped out for say a 128Gb,
I don't know what iPhone internals are

I think the first thing will be use in professional photograph, but given the price of UHS 3, it will cost

This will definitely be on the Note 7. Why else would they announce it now. More power to the upcoming ruler of handheld gadgets (not just of phones).

Hopefully android will change the way it handles memory card.. Symbian since ages have mastered the external memory-apps can be installed fully on sdcard-symbian can even hot-swap memory cards without needing a shutdown/restart like a boss.. Android still has a long way to catch up.. Till then i'll stick with my symbian nokia 808 with 128gb.. Still the unbeatable cameraphone too

I can have every single keepsake video that I have ever recorded, all of my home movies shot on film then digitized and a slew of my personal favorite movies with me, on my hip, at all times; and still have space to record as I'd like. My first 1 Gigabyte SD card (full-sized) purchased for my Palm Treo in December 2004 at CompUSA cost $100. I bought a duplicate set-up for my fiancée at the same time while I was working in Atlanta, Georgia, and she was up north in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Those were heady times! My Treo and the SD card are still functioning and in pristine condition.
