When Apple or other brands, specially Apple will place a Iris Scanner in their phones than already will be a innovation. Then Apple will make a patent saying that is their invention. And probably Apple will make other brands pay for use that feature which it is not their invention.

Why does it show your in the selfie camera? I think that is dumb, this should be working in the background to provide seamless operation.

Hi haters xD If you dont like Samsung design if you think iris scanner is not good, then simply dont buy it, are you a phone desgner? probably not so look all sony phones like the same, Iphone never change to much the design and what samsung phone are good looking they try to increase spects better cameras,( dont come to tell me that 12 pixels is not an upgrade S7 take great pictures even better than my note 5 that is 16 mp. So if you like Samsung dont be a hater just continued with you favorite brand ( I like Iphones and the Note series)

On Windows 10 Mobile it works in the dark and with glasses.

The terms there mention during using the iris scanner make sure your eye contact with it at least 8 inch distance to prevent damage your eye! Also mention don't use it under baby eye because it may cause damage to baby eye.
Another term mention if you feel headache, unconsciousness or even blackout! after using the iris scanner, please immediate contact doctor.
Wonder long usage will affecting our eye or not. The term showing iris scanner is not a good thing for our eye.
It mention it may not work correctly and fail if you wear glasses or contact lens. Also only use in indoor or at least not under bright sunlight condition.

So, you wake the phone, then instead of using the fingerprint scanner, you slide the screen just to use iris scanner? Send like a lot to go through when you could just use your fingerprint

They have one of the worst software support for ex s4 still on 5.0 not even 5.1.1 which is a stable build than 5.0, samsung never care about their customers

Looks like a flat screen Note7, or am i mistaken? Or the phone is in a case.
My Note 4 needs to be replaced with a flat screen Note7. So flat screen all the way for me..as do many others telling from their comments. So hope Sammy doesn't screw up.
