They can call it notebook for all they want but with failing PC sales, they probably needed a new branding to get people interested.

But, I would love to have the opportunity to do more *on-site* which is why I want the portability.
I'll most probably keep my big-screen Dell monitor to edit photos on when home ;-)

The HP is really good for the price but the RAM maxes out at 8GB & no SSD harddisk + I don't mind a laptop without an optical disk drive.
The Dell you have linked is even better just that, the RAM is 8GB - does it have a 16GB variant? I'll pick it up right away!

if you want more storage leave that ssd and add another hdd for storage.

i think its unfair that they are providing only 256gb of storage, 1tb should be the basic storage on laptops....we already have 128 gb on 5 inch smartphones.....
