28 July, 2016
Surprisingly, the supplier of the handset's display isn't Samsung.

AnonD-539158, 28 Jul 2016why does all the phones need to have these stupid iphone st... moreThose stripes were first used by HTC. Apple copied form HTC and they are needed to place antennas. Otherwise, you wont get a signal on your phone. and to me, they make the phone look good, otherwise, a plane metal back on a phone will look bland.

since day 1 they claimed their LCD used LG, but that is false, 1% is LG and 99% are cheap TianMa LCD, so that you see many people suffer yellow screen. Do not trust what a Chinese company says

AnonD-539158, 28 Jul 2016why does all the phones need to have these stupid iphone st... moreThat is becoz the lines/bars on the outer case provide a clean escape route for the signal to get through the case.
I believe other companies already can accomplish that without making stripes but Iphone as "king of design(not)" decides to show them off (for some reason lol). But yeah, these lines got nothing to do with design and the chinese companies simply figured that out and they are putting them too.But imo they should make them the same as the color of the case, copying the ugly design from Iphone won't get them much popularity, becoz you know how stupid ppl are, they see stripes they get butthurt about iphone and dislike the chinese company making the phones.

Gotta wonder how much of the technology is reverse engineered from a Samsung panel. Used to work for a Chinese tech firm and let me tell you... their RND is next to non-existent.

If these Chinese companies can make mass production oled screens and Xiaomi will sell many of these devices, it means more competition for Samsung and LG, so oled displays get cheaper to produce. Besides if these Chinese made screens are good, more OEM's will either demand a better price from Samsung or they will simply get their panels from the Chinese.
