31 July, 2016
Galaxy Note's defining feature is the S Pen. Or is it just the upgraded hardware over the Galaxy S?

For me the s-pen is almost indispensable. The main reason I buy note series phablets is the s-pen. I'm sure the same is true for most Architects, Engineers and other design professionals. I hope Samsung brings out a new tablet with s-pen soon.

Alien , 31 Jul 2016Everybody I know owning a note never use the pen. They were... moreEarly note purchases were likely after the bigger screen and battery...

Now they are at parity to S series,.. why do you think Sammy dropped the non curved edge variant.. it is the only way they can keep the Note price point premium, cause the S variant got a price hike last time around.

Specs being relatively equal, they knew we had to be given waterproofing etc. or the S line is the natural choice... an S-pen isn't worth bulk dollars, not enough to drive sales and sell numbers..

Iris scanners don't sell phones... might be a nice extra feature, but that is kinda how a lot of people thought about the S-pen.

For me, the only reason I rethunk my working process to include it, was for when I was 'on the clock' at a customers house, needing to jot a note.

I have enjoyed writing sms to a friend with a note; we write to each other just to use the feature... pin point highlighting etc, is moot mostly as a two finger pinch/zoom allows fingers to select pretty well MOST of the time..
It is about developing habits, and casual s-pen use doesn't force that.

      Artrage on the other hand....

          Skewed results guaranteed...

People without the s-pen, eg the much larger pool of 'S' series purchasers; any guesses for how they are likely to vote? (given we all stand by our purchases)

And from the Note pool? Doesn't matter, after non S-pen equiped phones votes come in....

Everybody I know owning a note never use the pen. They were hyped about it the first few days, but just that. Maybe the styluses were cool back in the day when the touch screen technology wasn't so evolved, but nowadays it seems unnecessary.
Sure, pro people might use it, but if you are a pro, you don't work on the note, you have at least one laptop or pc.
As far as I see it, it's kinda useless and it's just another think to loose or brake.

it depends on the user. Some need some don't if you ask the general public but I find it useful since I am a document oriented person hence those that have similar tasks for the pen would find it useful, e.g. highlighting, signing, copy pasting
