Another "brilliant" "innovation" along with non-removable batteries, lack of sd slot or hybrid second slot.
Not one phone on the market is worth buying with their evil policies, totally disrespecting customers.

Indeed, and actually the better sound quality is gonna be relative. Most headphones are obviously gonna use cheap DAC/ amps so they can cut costs, and STILL be more expensive than a normal one without that circuit. Better amp for headphones as well, not to mention this was an option before (Both Apple and Android support USB DACs a while ago), now it's the only one.
Better power? Now that one will not be true, in fact it will be worse, you'll have to convert power up to 5V from the battery's voltage, down from that 5V to whatever the amp/DAC uses, and then all the external support circuitry will take power, for example USB Audio protocol overhead, or whatever Apple uses.
They are exactly going back in time, with ridiculous excuses they'll try to pull off. In fact the old days were better, the adapters were just passive, no DAC inside any of them, way cheaper albeit just as annoying.

aahh, again pseudoscience... I hope you'll just get better informed with this post and wasn't genuinely believing this electrocution thing, well let's start the debunking:
1st comes the fact that the iPhone itself is already made of aluminium, highly conductive metal, being the 1st part you touch that could electrocute you. That being said, the headphones earth connection probably attaches to the frame itself to avoid interference pickup. Basically you did nothing worse by plugging headphones, IF and only IF you were to get electrocuted by the phone, blame the metal body for that.
2nd: Apple Earpods, and many (if not most) headphones out there have all parts in contact with the user made of PLASTIC. Specially the official earpods are completely made of plastic from the outside. In the end you can get electrocuted by the phone itself but never by the headphones/earphones, unless you got specifically metal shrouding, grounded to the jack, and in contact with your skin, this could electrocute you, whoever you already got that by the metal body, so pointless.
3rd: the original Apple charger, pretty much any decent 3rd party charger, or even most of the cr** ones, use isolation transformers inside themselves. Basically they are switch mode power supplies providing 5v, insulated from the grid entirely. This means that the worst you could get on some electric shock would be the 5v, the charger probably (most of the times) blows open circuit, so no current flows, OR you got some horrible quality 3rd party fake accessory, that will again, 1st electrocute your hands on the phone.
let's be honest. It's dead obvious that they are doing this to just rip off more with adapters and accessories. There isn't any decent space gain inside the phone if you remove the jack, if that was the case they shouldn't have added that ginormous linear vibration motor below the battery, which was in fact the cause for the lower battery capacity of the 6s compared to the 6.

And I am sure everyone might have gone through a stage when u got some unavoidable calls when ur battery started dying, which forced u do the above mentioned...

Jmtm, 30 Jul 2016For me, this is one of the worst decision made by apple bu... moreMaybe you're not following the news but LeEco has ditched 3.5mm jack already (this means they were the first and not apple who hasn't launched the phone yet). I do own Le Max2 and I didn't feel the need for the jack. I don't listen to music too often I have to say, but with the adapter that was in the box, I can connect any headphones.

I have a ipod nano and ipod shuffle, (believe both are designed and built by Apple). I am sure that they are thinner in size than the upcoming iPhone.. They are also having a 3.5mm h/p Jack!

well, in my opinion, the only way to solve this problem would be having adapter with usb, or usb natively having 1 port. So when u put phpne to charge, u have 1 extra port for earphones.

For me, this is one of the worst decision made by apple but we all know all Android manufactures wkll follow this just because apple did it sigh.....
And of course Samsung will be the first lol
