03 October, 2010
The Nokia N8 started shipping this week and reviews of the Finnish company's latest flagship are spreading like wildfire. Checking out the first batch of those we noticed a certain trend, which we cannot...

I decided in a million years coming to your website to finally comment. First of all I don't know if you guys look at this comments but I wanna thank you for been a great website with great reviews. I had made several phone purchases(lots) since 2006-2010 and I must say 80% of the time I follow your opinions and reviews that are really detailed and great information. I always said your website its one of the few that plays in favor of a company or platform. like you guys I have look at all this nokia n8 reviews and I'm quite shock how many people gave the n8 the finger. I admit its not the greatest device but most reviewers have no knowledge of symbian or haven't touch one for years and come to the table with a android IOS state of mind and at first use they tempt to throw rocks at it. I'm not saying I would buy this device but I had owned many S60 devices and I must say their quite a unique platform. Their like a muscle car or a old school car it has so much power under the hood that if you don't know how to drive manual you shouldn't even bother trying. (thats just my opinion)

the issue here is not the N8 nor apple nor samsung nor whatever..,,the issue here is.. what does gsmarena care 'bout this N8? or what does gsmarena care bout the reviews of other sites?? ,,

its obviously biased ,you're on nokia's side..

making this scandal just to sensationalize this N8..

its like a mother who don't want to get her child hurt by others..
        oh,you're protecting nokia...

cmon guys, ditch this phone... its very mid ranged if youd ask me... go for s8500 wave instead, the specs are really high ends: 512 mb ram (the possibility for android 3.0 if someone can succesfully port android over this phone), n8 only 256mb! wahhhhhh; 1 gb cpu!, n8 not even close; the battery of wave is good at least better than n8; ui, for starters, i think bada is weigh cooler than symbian now; and the gpu, well, lets just say galaxy s and wave s8500 have the same, n8 cant even compete.

the only good thing in n8 is its camera and multimedia features...

verdict: if you're thinking of buying this phone, think again and buy wave s8500 instead(the best samsung phone up to date, even better than galaxy s due to the presence of its camera flash).

after sifting through the fastest thread ive ever seen here is my thoughts
first we are all entitled to our opinion
everybody has there own mind and own choice when it comes to phones
                  everybody has different taste
                  everybody has a different opininon
this is media gsm arena and the other site mentioned i dont have a favourite or want to take sides ,in saying that i look here every day and love the reviews ,i dont take into account 100 percent to what is said until i test the phones myself then overlook whats been said and make my own decision
yes i am a nokia fan true and true and yes they are slipping down in the market
more than 75 percent of people dont even have this phone and cant make a comment that has any accuracy, but only what they read on the net
so to those people try before you buy then comment.
the other phones mentioned have been around a while and have had time to fix whatever bugs there is and by no means is any phone on the market perfect including the iphone and the N8
if anybody that has posted here and come up with the worlds perfrect flawless phone why waste time posting drivel and make it ,you will be richer than bill gates, and to that person that (ever does)i will shake there hand and laugh later when we see that you cant make a perfect phone
                  good day
GSM ARENA KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

very good point, I looked into these materials and all of them are pointless and misleading. All pictures are either with camera shake or focused on the wrong spot. Having these facts in mind it is clear for a experienced photographer the N8 is better! The detail is much much more, pictures look natural (which is more valuable than artificially pumped-up paintings). All photos show the amount of light and detail in N8 is much more (would say more like a normal camera) that is grabbed by the bigger sensor. I am starting to wonder if someone pays these websites to mislead, or maybe the people that write this are just idiots that don't know anything about photography, cameras and stuff like that. Too bad for Nokia and the potential buyers that will get mislead. N8 is better people, after all the bigger sensor is the most important thing here. Software too , but this is not the first camera from nokia.

Absolutely agree with the post...with such a short period, they made the conclusion that this phone is not good...this is a bit unfair to the manufacturer...Maybe some of you who post the comment are the anti nokia fans...i personally felt that he or she should try to think it naturally...whether u like iphone or HTC or others but please dont try to persuade other people to follow ur choice...

MeeGo and s^4 r expected early next year. N8 is s^3. Till last month nokia kept tight-lipped over querries regarding s^4 upgrade of n8, and jus said that nothing is in plan yet. Any change since then? Will anyone update me?

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010In such a fast evolving space as mobile phone market? Yeah,... moreTotally agree to that. I recall here the first time I ever heard about Android and how many analysts expected that it will never survice the battle against Windows Mobile and IOS and some of them even went further and made fun of them on the internet... Looking at things today, I'd love to hear what those people who initially predicted that Android does not stand a big chance would say :-)
On the other hand, could any analyst predict that Windows Mobile will ever have competition? Nowadays, WINMO are fighting really hard just to live up to the limits all the rest have reached (and that even includes Symbian if you you want my opinion).
