Samsung are asking carriers about it. As Samsung well know carriers always go with what is cheapest. They are paying lip service to something they have no intention of delivering on. It's just pointless posturing. Not many of us will be fooled by it.

Many Chinese and Japanese corporations have access to these technologies and Samsung only invented 10nm lpddr4 ram, using theyr own litography schemes. ufs storage simply also means increasing slightly the die size and allow for memory chips to be interconnected, which is still cheap to manufacture in China, not SK. This was just marketing and false money savings, not technological selection. If such was the case, then a 128GB Nvme chip from Apple would also be US exclusive, which not only is faster than UFS 2.0 but has global availability.

Probably gonna get it in your hands by October. They can't make this the primary version because of the production problem. 6gb ram is relatively new and guess what, only a few company made those ram. And 128gb ufs storage, only Samsung manufacture those. How many factories do you think Samsung have to manufacture millions of demand? One factory can't even produce enough of one color variant(black, gold, silver, blue), one type of chipsets(snapdragon or exynos), and plus the 6gb ram version. That really a lot! If only it is one variant with one color and no others extras, they can easily put it on sales on launching days.

just like it is possible to provide for a easily removable sdcard while still keeping the rest of the device water proof then it should be possible to do the same for a easily removable battery - i.e. design the device for placement of the battery OUTSIDE the water proof sealing thereby providing for a easily removable battery. Without costing and arm and a leg. But I'll gladly pay a few buck more.

It's Active branch of Galaxy S phones has been an AT&T exclusive for the past generation. I'd love to buy an international, unlocked version of the S7 Active. The US gets the S7 Active & China gets a jacked-up Note 7. Meanwhile in Europe...no dice.

So they can actually crank out a higher capacity version. If they made this the primary version, then the note 7 would be untouchable for the rest of the year. Samsung never fails to baffle me sometimes.
