But no, Samsung clearly wants to make an impression where they think it matters, not that they think right anyways, therefore making a phone with equivalent specs to 300-400€ flagship devices on China, means it has to have 6GB of ram.

The guy there is talking only about 128GB storage version.
This 6GB memory, looks like media bluff.

Anonymous, 11 Aug 2016Its neither false marketing ,nor money savings. Hype market... moreThat writting is so unclear and incoherent that it makes it extremely hard to understand. Anyways, the remainder of the manufacturers make great phones (Apple, OnePlus, ZTE, Google Nexus) and they all excel at things that Samsung doesnt, like audio, camera, charging, updates, customer support and so on, yet they all know that releasing models with inferior specs on paper, is meaningless in the real world, since most consumers purchasing top of the line models have moderate technological knowledge. They can come up with whichever excuse they can, but if there is one thing that always drowns companies is to gimp theyr flagships (LG G5 "SE" on South America for example), which results in a complete turn-over from the most loyal fans, which are the powerusers. Even if they released a 6GB/128GB model worldwide, sales wouldnt decrease if it was the sole model, but increase even further. It only costs maybe 360-400€ to make such N7 and selling it for only 30€ more than the "weak" one available worldwide, wouldnt let people down, but it would also boost theyr sales over pretty much any Iphone user.

Note7 4GB will look anemic beside local Chinese offerings. This is a necessary move in that particular maket, however impractical 6GB will be. It's just the way things are in that corner (ok, half) of the world. China is too HUGE a market to ignore and no to cater to.

AnonD-491313, 11 Aug 2016That is so not true. Many Chinese and Japanese corporations... moreIts neither false marketing ,nor money savings. Hype marketing gave apple their original control via public induction
into a cause, people believing they were part of apple, and to buy elewhere would be letting down a personal cause/belief that there choise is/was the best they could have made.
Now their choise/ belief is so misaligned with reality, that mindset can't be imposed on thm any longer. Through the years that, that mental stronghold existed, apple scarcely, had to add much in the way if any upgrade to any new generation of phone, because theloal would buy it anyway, giving no competion, as the public PERCIEVED, there WAS no compertion.
But back in the real world, phones, like cars, cookers, anything, all rely on enticing new customers, hence we the consumer have conversations with our friends like,
" Have you seen the new... ( Insert product here.)...its got a." We live and die on the latest specs and facilities. Great for us, but, this gives manufacturers a problem, there is a ceiling being raced towards, and if one manufacturer spent, all the research and development money that exists on the planet, put every new item there can ever be invented, in one new phone, they would sweep the market for one year only. The next year every body would copy it with little outlay. The original manufacturer who had all the cost and decency to provide all that innovative kit, would have no where to go, nothing extra to give,to get their well earned customers back from the copiers, who stole them. Thats why other firms will now make phoes with curved screens, thats a reason why apple sits back for two years, lets others spend their R&D money, then they claim by some little change made, it was their innovation,
visa v, it was always harder and longer for the wheel to be invented, than some one sticking hubcaps on it.
Samsung have no need, (the note 7 is a market leading phone) to introduce 6gb of ram with its accompanying costs, unless they are forced in a region to compete, especialy, when the phones they are competing with, may, have generally inferior specs , or, less valuable, individual components, in the other aspects of the phone, but if they are forced to unreasonably, compete, and if that competing model comes to other regions, where say, you would have bought the REAL note 7, and you would have upgraded next year, as many do,.....well, if you want to, WAIT, to get the foreign model, pay the price you would have been happy to pay, NEXT year, go ahead, but don,t blame Samsung if cheap competition with very little R&D attempt to make Samsung, empty all the rounds out of their rifle, before the battle starts, I,m sure next year, you , with the paid media, will be the first to accuse Samsung, of having nothing new to offer, whilst letting the same convince you, that apple and the others, adding one new bolt, to all Samsungs exspensive inventions have captures worlds praise and pockets.

Samsung rushed the Note 7 Lite with 4GB/64GB to market that will get iPhone 7 on the 1st day. In market where iPhone isn't dominate, Samsung have to compete on spec which is why SD821/6GB/128GB.

iPhone 7 is gonna crash Note 7 Lite consider A9 is still faster than SD820 in many task and A10 will be even faster and Apple included more RAM this year.

As it says in the article that Samsung is in talks with different carriers to try and dirtemine the demand for the 6GB/128GB Note 7 model.

Understand also that China as well as India are flooded with Flagships from different vendors who offer 6GB ram and others like Asus offer even 256GB storage options. What this simply means is that competition there is gonna be stiff considering that the competition that Samsung is facing is offering similar or better hardware at about half the price. To win they need to compete spec-spec and remain the premium brand that they are.

The fact that they're considering launching this 6gb version outside China means we might see it in our countries provided that we as consumers create the demand cause we the ones with the money.

and a 2550 battery ? annoying that they wont give all the important specs.

There are a few here that said: "Fail Samsung: No 6GB ram no buy!". Now they say: "Fail Samsung. I feel sorry for those who ordered the 4GB devices!" ....

For what exactly do we need more than 4 GB or ram I can not understand ?! It's like an hysteria these days!
I have the S7 edge and I never ever had any lag or speed problem. If during the night someone would change my phone with a 6GB one I would not be able to notice any difference.

I believe that some just want to look smarter in asking for more GB of ram and those would be the ones who will pay more for the phone and eventually be fooled.
