Samsung released the Android 2.2 Froyo for Galaxy S yesterday.I bought the phone from clove technology in England. But i stay in Shanghai, China.I have sync with the Kies program but still i find out that its not available. Is it done region by region?Secondly Samsung Kies has also released Kies 1.5.3 version.Since i got my Galaxy S i was a bit worried if it would not not connect. But till now no problem in connection at all.Waiting impatiently to finally upgrade to Froyo. And i would like to know if the RAM has increased from 326MB to 512MB usage? As Android 2.1 Eclair was limited to 326MB.

Lag issues.
Why post a comment about lag if you neither understand what it is or why it happens.
Lag is NOTHING to do with RAM - Your SGS IS using all 512mb of RAM, some is consumed with no user space processes. Seeing more ram will make no difference to performance.
Task killers will NOT improve SGS [or any android device] performance - this concept is flawed because of assumptions on how the OS manages memory, this is not windows! If you think the device is not handling memory correctly you need to alter the 'minfree' setting. Autokiller or OCLF both have options, strict or aggressive work best. Closing applications manually will give you a short term fix, the correct minfree will guarantee long term fluid perfomance.
Lag is present on ALL SGS until you use a lag fix. It is caused by Samsungs insistance on a buggy proprietary file system called RFS for the /system and /data folders in your OS. Unless you convert these partitions to some other files system you will never be without lag. Most lag fixes are using ext2 or ext3 or ext4 mounted within the RFS partition. Some are more ambitious and replace the RFS entirely. IMHO z4mod seems to give the best result and is permanent. It is not something I would recommend for the average user to attempt as it is highly technical and not without risk.
Lag will not be fixed by Froyo - the update enables some new features, it does not change the underlying files systems. Samsung have kept RFS and seem to have made no changes or updates to fix it.
Lag fixes are NOT just about Quadrant or Linpack scores - the best lag fixes do not give the best score increases, anyone who actually does some research will find lag fix reviews dont typically present or ask for scores since we all know they mean nothing in the real world. RyanZA OCLF and voodoo and z4mod give real performance increases and remove the RFS related lag.
