Samsung Galaxy Note7 loses to year old iPhone 6s in speed test

23 August, 2016
Despite being a year old, the iPhone 6s is known to hold its own against more modern devices in speed tests. This is in no small parts due to Apple's software optimization, the performance of the A9 chip, and incredibly quick NVMe storage. But how does it fare against the brand new Galaxy Note7?

The priority of iphone strategy is the performance, a lot of restrictions + supper lite os + strong hardware, i think when android devices performance becomes almost similar to the iPhone that means big fail to the iPhones.

Everybody else is fighting over Android vs iOS, QHD vs FHD, Samsung vs Apple, bla bla bla

I'm just waiting until Samsung truly optimize their Tizen OS. I bet it will be faster and smoother than the two of these devices.

The *only* thing you can blame it on is hardware. IPhone 6s has better hardware performance wise ... simple. At the same time Note 7 despite the numbering jump is the weakest Note ever. It barely wins last year's Note 5 in app launches. It is absolutely destroyed by Oneplus 3 too, despite costing twice as much.

Samsung is growing complacent and once again everybody is passing her by, it's a bit funny because she built her name by giving best hardware for best prices. Nowadays it's middling specs for astronomical prices. I feel bad for the people still defending this brand, every day it becomes less and less defensible...

Linas, 23 Aug 2016No it is not... This test was very subjective and misleadin... moreThat doesn't really explain why the OP3 is so much faster than the N7? With the snapdragon 820 Samsung should have closed the gap with decent optimisation.

Here is the speed test of s7 exynos vs iphone 6s plus
                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNlc3hAe6i8

The exynos still loses to iphone 6s by very small margin. But it is far more faster than snapdragon version.

Waiting for Note 7 exynos speed test

Forgot the iPhone 6s times what Samsung should be worried about is why the OP3 only finished the same tests a few seconds behind the 6s In the context of those times the optimisation on the N7 is simply embarrassing, given that they are both running the same OS. If you want the fastest Android phablet then get an OP3 for half the price of a N7?
