My Redmi Note 2 was rendered almost unusable without connecting it to power, with the battery draining ridiculously fast at about 1-2% per min even when all the background apps have been cleared.
After a week of trying all suggested remedies and searching forums, I finally resolved it by backing up the phone and doing a factory reset. Now it's running normal again - phew.

MIUI 8 is probably the reason why Mi 5s got a worse endurance rating than Mi 5, even though it has +200mAh larger battery. Should be fixed in future updates.

Just download MIUI7. Rename the package to update.zip and put the package in downloaded_rom folder. Now go to updater and choose update package, navigate to update.zip, Its done now. But remember your battery must charged atleast 60% before you start.

Stable ROM can be - Global Stable ROM or China Stable ROM
