+ it's the brand that gives the updates not Google, so even if there is an update if the brand doesn't give it to the phone there will be no update.

Isn't this very late for the M-update when Nougat is already there? What about the recent Google directive to manufacturers for timely updates, its obvious thats already watered down... :-(

I feel like a it is totally different OS. If I use other guys android phones :) it feels like lag, unresponsive

In my opinion, I don't care if MIUI is based on Android 5 or 6, or Android 4 ( IT'S only BASED). But I do care about getting MIUI 8 and later MIUI 9. MIUI always has been smooth and different.

Hey friends first of all just use MIUI. I use redmi note 3 Snapdragon. I updated my miui to miui 8. I have been using xiaomi for almost a yeah and IT IS BUG FREE, every month u get an update(sometimes every week), and NEVER LAGS. If u don't believe, get one and use it. It's fun, and never boring it is not like an Android
