I said that miui is much different than stock android rom like in moto. Miui already has 99% of what android has and much more features. That's why i said that even if you get the update you want feel any difference.

Maybe you had a nightly update that's why you faced these problems (that's if you have the device). I heard that there was battery draining issue but never faced some. My sot never went bellow 9h even when gaming. + never heard about a display that still shines under very strong sun light.

Miui is so different from stock android. ... more6 is smoother and more battery efficient than 5.
6 supports fingerprint scanner by default.
I know some would say 6 is less compatible than 5, which is true a year ago but not now.

Miui is so different from stock android. ... moreIf there is no different for version 5 and 6, why would Google even want to develope new version, now 7 (nougat)?
Though this is to the extreme, everyone could just use android 2.3 if this is the logic.
Xiaomi sucks!

Miui is so different from stock android. ... moreI'm sure you don't own redmi note 3.
There are lots of bugs, but to be fair, could due to inferior parts are being used.
You go go to miui forum to find out the truth.
Here I would mention few:
1) after you finish your phone conversation, remove the phone from your ear, the screen remain off. And you can end your call.
2) the screen become dimmer under very bright sun.
3) moderator of miui forum confirm few continuous release of miui has battery drainage problem, and xiaomi can't fix even after month of feedback.
4) xiaomi even suspend stable version of miui after release, because of bugs.
5) fault fingerprint scanner for some though not all.
While Huawei give marshmallow update to honor 5x, xiaomi just tries so hard not to.

Yet to use a Xiaomi device, but still don't understand why people complaining when updates for a device worth $ 200 is delayed / not released. AFAIK no manufactures ( except Moto for E series, even though its also delayed ) give timely updates to the low priced devices ( mid tier specs for RN3, but per price point its in the lower strata ).

If you use miui the Android version doesn't really matter if you ask me. If had a Mi3 and the software only got worse after they updated it tot Android 6.0.
