HTC One A9s goes official, and no, it's not an upgrade

01 September, 2016
The One A9s keeps the premium unibody, but downgrades screen resolution, chipset, and camera features.

They had to move the camera from the middle (in the One A9) to the side. Makes it look even more like a phone from a particular fruit company.

"The One A9s will launch this October and its pricing is yet to be revealed. "

My bet: over 300€ for a 150-200€ smartphone

if Nexus Sailfish dont save HTC to bankrupt i dont know what else can save...

HTC are doing everything wrong, like Sony...and thats why both are suffering in the market share and sell's.

Sony could do better, and HTC could do less and cheaper.

I think this is a good move from HTC. The A9 was and is a really nice handset but there was confusion in stores if it was replacing the M9. Also the price was too high for a phone that was high end mid-range.

Now when you put up against the HTC 10 you have a beautiful and affordable high quality mid-range handset.

Although HTC have not released a price yet, I'm hoping it will be £299 max compared to 480 last year in Carphone Warehouse.

If someone who is not so worried about a high spec phone just for the sake of it but wants a phone that looks nice, has most of the features of the flagship but not the spec, tis will be the phone for you.

        Well done HTC!

Original A9 could have been highest selling, if for giving price they had packed very good hardwares from inside plus bigger battery atleast 2800mah.

This new A9s will kill A9 series with low end spec and from past experience, I don't believe it will be that affordable.

Gl HTC what the hell are your people to think that downgrading new phone will help in marketing? JUST SELL YOUR COMPANY TO GOOGLE. So google can make best smartphones.

                    Again hasty comments !?
This is not a new version of the A9 and cheaper one.
A 10 is expected later this year.

So confused. What exactly are they trying to accomplish with the A9s? And why would anyone want to buy it over the regular A9?

Anyone here who wants to buy this A9 or A9s crap? Lemme say,NO.

HTC invents some really beautiful looking smartphones and A9 is one of them but they fail to provide the reliable inner hardware.

All they had to do was upgrade the chipset (SD 650/652) and increase the battery capacity and it's a winner.

Only HTC can engineer a device like the A9 and then fill it with Crap !

                              Bye Bye HTC

HTC has already reached EOF. If one wants to capture market, It should increase or atleast keep the same specs and enhance the user experience. These specs just doesn't make sense, considering the price point with which HTC would sell this phone. As a proud user of HTC one M8, I was seriously considering A9s for an upgrade. But I think my m8 would be more powerful than even A10 which HTC would release next year, If at all it exists.

First of all A9 looked very much like iPhone ( though claims are other way round) and secondly high tag when compared to competition for the hardware offered.

Its not possible to survive just on past glory ( Motorola and Nokia). Need to reinvent and rethink. Nokia will be back soon, coz they know that they need to learn from market. Motorola sold out to Lenovo and see what is happening.

Key is to adopt before market kills you.its never late.

lower the resolution and cut the stereo speakers !!!

                                        wtf ??

now in the new line of HTC there are not one single phone with stereo speakers !
                                        not even one !

And something more, Nexus has stereo speakers and guess what ??? the new HTC nexus will not have stereo speakers any more !!

HTC is killing stereo speakers not on HTC phones but in Nexus phones also !

HTC just go bankrupt already !
