At last a phone that you can play games on.
I have an iphone and the games are ok. But the touch screen controls are terrible. Sometimes your thumb gets in the way of the screen etc.... Thanks Sony

Does it have a proprietary PSP emulator software, or maybe the games would run even on "regular" android?
Does it have proprietary processor chips or just common ones that are available also to other smartphones?

Remember SE if we can not play PSP game there is no meaning in buying PSP Phone. Modification in game play experience will not be allowed.

I love this phone! Hope it will be made available and that it will be an upgrade from the Xperia X10 when it comes to feature, OS, specs and all. I'm planning to get the X10 but price is pretty steep. I guess, I'll wait for this phone now.

I believe there will be future revisions of this phone like Sony did with the PSP and Nintendo did with the DS, but not in the way where they keep changing the hardware and screen resolution. Game developers would get confused. Standards in gaming can last at least 5-6 years. Look at the life of the DS. This picture is just a prototype. When the first leaked PSP photos were leaked, it didn't look exactly like the production model in 2004-2005 at all. Sony can have s big year next year. First this PlayStation branded Android phone. Then more 3DTVs. Then announcements for the PS4 and PSP 2. Apple is having a banner year in 2010 with the iPhone 4, iPod touch 4, and iPad, and should continue to do well with a CDMA VeriPhone in 2011. But Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft seem to all be due for their next gen of consoles. I really hope this comes with a removable battery and they make it very extremely durable from all the button mashing. This is a type of phone that can last many years because Sony simply can't upgrade the hardware or we start losing the compatibility from new games to old software/hardware and developers have to keep adjusting. This idea of a PlayStation branded phone is going to take some time for more refinement. Just be grateful we are getting a 1Ghz CPU. Nintendo 3DS is already underpowered for Unreal graphics and lack of RAM and internal memory is disappointing. Sony can take Android to the next level of sales and vice-versa.

does it have a proprietary Sony PSP processor chip, or is the PSP here only a software solution and not a hardware one (compared to a common Android smartphone)?

instead of using a sliding gaming pad they should have used a solution which uses usb add-on hardware (this new technology which nokia N8 has).
this way the user could pick also other hardware to conncet - like a qwerty keyboard.
and generally speaking, i hope that really soon all manufacturers would add the option to use usb add-on hardware - it's a great concept!

This type of fusion phone will RULE!
