There have been reports of software problems and S-Pen problems (Samsung were replacing the S-Pens for free I believe) too and they are certainly not the fault of third parties. Whilst they cannot possibly test each and every battery extensively when combined with the other issues a clear pattern would seem to be evident.

I believe after this incident, people will try to "break" their phones and saying all brands are the same.

anonymous, 02 Sep 2016you defend for samsung make me sick. I'm a Samsung user but... moreI didn't attack anyone. I stated something that is common sense. The problem was with 1/100,000 batteries, made by third party contractors. Nobody with a reasonable level of intelligence would think there was negligence on Samsung's part without having any evidence, as nobody expects Samsung to take 100,000 of these batteries, have them put into phones, and test all 100,000 of them in many different ways.

Unexpected problems occur in life, what matters on Samsung's part is how quickly and decisively they can deal with it. Meanwhile, the average uneducated consumer would act like Samsung's definitively at fault here so Samsung will be hurt, at least for the next few months because of this. Do you disagree with this analysis? Why, if so?

AnonD-237389, 02 Sep 2016In Android Sony has the best quality, if dont want quality ... moreSo glue popping out from the screen (Z3C, someone mentioned it on this topic), gaps near the screen and rear camera (Z2) and parts falling off the phone (as witnessed on my wife's previous nightmare-of-a-phone, M4 Aqua) are all counted as Sony-quality?

Doesn't really yell quality, on the contrary - do they even perform ANY quality-checking or do they ship every unit without caring about obviously existing, visually easy-to-notice-problems? It's not like they sell the most phones in the industry, making it too hard to check the quality before shipping them... They just don't care, it seems.

This I what happens when you only focus on your competition and not your own product. Samsung has become so obsessed with beating Apple that they've neglected their hardware and their software.

Not only are batteries flaring up but TouchWiz still slows a purely spec capable phone down.
