AnonD-510098, 02 Sep 2016Hahaha, I don't see any Huawei phones catching fire. Sam... moreThat may not be true. The battery is made by third parties, the same third parties that make batteries for other phones. We still don't even know if its just Samsung that's affected. Nevertheless, educated people will understand that the blame is obviously not on Samsung, and that we can only judge Samsung based on their response. Meanwhile uneducated people will just act like there was some extra negligence on Samsung's part that caused this.

This is really impressive, obviously we'll now much better in a week/month or so, but as a first impression/thoughts, this will be really quite damaging to Samsung reputation, profits, etc. & even more, because we are not talking about "just" a budget phone from Samsung, but the latest great flagship. Plus now that the LG V20, etc, are just around the corner. So let's wait and see more better what the aftermath will be, but it will depend on the scale of it, because that in somehow it will be negative is certain. The only positive note is that at least Samsung is doing the best possible.

i like samsungs quick reaction, they recognized that there is a fault and they are correcting/replacing units as fast as possible, if it was apple we would probably get some explanation "you are not charging it right"

I'm sure the usual fanboys will still come here and deny facts, because they simply know best and Samsung cannot make a fault -- other than stating they made a fault.
They need to realize that even the best can have an issue or even a lemon, that's just life -- it's all about how the matter is handled when it happens.
MOVE ALONG...

See Larry what happens when you send 100phones into market every year. See why Apple takes care of the annual releases so much?

Its highly appreciable move by Samsung. I am not a fan of Samsung, but this gesture really deserves respect. Though very few units are effected, they are honest enough to accept it.
In India Micromax is second largest brand after Samsung. Batteries of most of mm phones swell within a year time, with matter of user safety at least concern. Ever heard Micromax acknowledge the fault????
Hats off Samsung.

Note 7 suffered from 7 deadly sins (name beholds!).
If the phone has not been designed as "user unreplecable" (to leak continuous annual battery replacement costs from the customer) that wouldn't happen. But, GOD is powerful and hit the slam to face who was thinking fingering the customer (by leaking battery replacement costs) and let them lick honey from the same finger (as IP68 WP thing)!
SO, now, design a proper Note8 phone like Note4.
