Samsung to unveil the Google Nexus S on 8 November?

29 October, 2010
There is something cooking over at the Samsung camp and we're about to see what in just two weeks, on 8 November. Rumor has it, this might actually be the next-gen Google Nexus, the Nexus S (Nexus Two)...

well maybe it's better that samsung will make nexus two for google with similar hardware - maybe the same hardware galaxy s uses. Google will provide support for this hardware - hummingbird processor, so this could be a very good thing!

Hmmmm... People are having a pop a Samsung for their poor support of their products, but isn't the Nexus S a case of Samsung creating a phone for Google? i.e. - they are simply the hardware provider. This would mean that Google would be charged with supporting the software themselves. Perhaps that's a very good thing.

Samsung - Nexus S with android 2.3? what about official actualy working froyo 2.2 without any lagg and maybe with ext4 file sistem for Samsung Galaxy S? well baybe they better forget about 2.2 for Galaxy S and go strait for Gingerbread because it seems they can't make it to work with this phone!

Is Samsung trying to create a galaxy of clones? (Pun intended)

Samsung knows that Galaxy S is a one-hit wonder so that's why its implementing every other phone it creates with GS components. From naming conventions (Vibrant/Captivate) to even Nexus 2? This is getting boring.

Let's face it, 10 years down the road, people are still gonna be talking about the Apple iPhone but what about Galaxy S?

Uhh, I'm kind of confused here. So Samsung will be making a new phone on behalf of Google that outperfoms their own top end models?

If Samsung are releasing the Nexus S running Android 2.3 gingerbread that will be an 'egg on the face' of all Galaxy S users out there. Given that they've had such a long delay waiting for Group 2.2.
More likely than a Nexus S springing up in shops, the Galaxy S will be Gingerbread straight from 2.1! This also ties in with the delays with the 2.2 release and the similar specification.
There are a couple of questions to ask though:
                  1. Why would Google put their only Flagship phone in the hands of Samsung?
                  2. Would Google really give 2.3 Gingerbread to the Galaxy S before it's own beloved?

dave, 29 Oct 2010HTC are miles better than samsung. Samsung hardware is shit... moreSamsung hardware is shit? You want to compare the HTC with Snapdragon and Adreno graphics based hardware with the Samsung Arm Cortex A8 Hummingbird with PowerVR SGX540 graphics in their Android phones?
Even the new Snapdragon MSM8255 it's weaker than the Hummingbird.

                      make sense.

Google phone has to be the most excellent Android phone since they're the one that created the Android.
and Samsung Galaxy S is on of the best android phone available in the market.
so, it's natural that Google finally choose Samsung to manufacture their next Android phone.

Since Samsung have proven many times they don't care about customers and product support, I'm not buying anything from them, regardless of hardware specs.

Galaxy S came on market in June, reached the end-of-life in September. Lifecycle 3 months. Folks are still waiting for the 2.2 update which was originally promised for August.

i hope it's not true, htc should always be making android flagship devices. samsung will customize it beyond recognition and fill it up with uninstallable crapware, thank you very much

Yeah, It seems it's always good for the Market if someone with a good name joins in. Hmm I just wonder how different will this be from the Galaxy S. And I'm glad Google teamed up with a more serious Brand than HTC, Samsung has much better build quality.
