well amd has better relations with Samsung, in contrast with nvidea, yet I believe nvidea has better ipc in low power solutions hence tegra line, and also lets not forget that amd may prove to be better taking into account vulkan api, if it shows to have good benefits in the android world

hahahaha that article from eteknix just proved my point, doesn't matter how they implement it they still support async just not to the same level, as I have been saying all along. what I am talking about is on the hardware side, the rastor is what allocates the task to the shader from the pipelines, there are plenty of exaples of pascal gaining performance from dx12, just google it to see, as ive been saying, not as much as amd but they still have gains unlike Maxwell and async is not the only to improve performance in dx12 and Vulcan, there are more improvements then just this, look up multi gpu support for them, soon we will be able to use on board gpu's built into the cpu to offload low level graphics tasks to it, not to mention the fact they also allow for better effects (like smock and lighting) with out any hit to performance

Now tell me Nvidia does it with a straight face :)
Most Nvidia sponsored games will make less use of Async as to not make Radeons look great (Tomb Raider). While most neautral games will make great use of Async (Doom). As you can see in Doom AMD's last gen cards are competitive with Nvidia current cards with proper use of Async.

let me put this in terms you can understand, asynce is the process of using multi lains of information to the gpu instead of only one, this requires rastor units to do this, the more the better, this works in the same way hyper threding works for intel processors. the rastor units schedule tasks for the gpu so there is no down time, the gpu is always working. with only one rastor unit there is moments of down time where the rastor unit is pulling throught data from the pipe line, pascal have three of there units, maxwell has 1, can have 8 educate yourself next time you wright a comment

Step 3: look at what AMD calls async compute/Async shaders
Step 4: tell me which actually does.
Nvidia does preemption. THAT IS NOT ASYNC, there is still waiting and waiting in what Nvidia calls Async. Just by the waiting means IT IS NOT ASYNC.
I am talking about pascal not Maxwell.
Jeez the information is out their to educate yourselves. Why are people so ignorant and still like to pretend they know what they are talking about?

Async means doing everything... moreyour thinkng of maxwell, yes it didnt support it due to only having one raster unit, pascal has 3 raster units, it does support it but amd have many more rastor units i beleave around 8 or more (but i could be wrong on the amount). yes amd benefits more from async compute more then nvidea but they do still support it. tho when you look at preformace overall even with the preformace boost amd gets there cards still do not come close to nvideas top end, the 1080 and 1070 are way above anything amd can offer atm, they may not benifit from async but there raw preformace is still miles ahead until vega

He was talking a... morewe are talking about phones, so leave out desktop and laptop. and where is the dx12 amd phone ? its all qualcomm gpu in the dx12 phones. show me the dx12 phone with amd gpu that plays blade 2 flawless. then ill bend over and give you right.
anyway, for desktop, nvidia can play any game smoothly, old as new. amd plays new smoothly and old like an old computer. as an old gamer, nvidia still does the job better, bc it works smooth on all games. not only some games. as i said, with amd, you get what you pay for.
