If Samsung made the note 7 with a removable battery look how much less of a problem this would be. Financial and logistical.
Maybe Sammy will reconsider putting user replacable cards and batteries in future phones.

Borrowed phone huh, I don't suggest it, heck I don't even suggest selling your smart phone as a second hand. Why you ask, for people who actually knows their way around this type of tech they can extract information from your phone even if you wipe the memory.

A sobering lesson for Samsung at the very least I hope... Do consider that this is almost unheard of with S7 Edge. Most plausible conclusion:- Note 7 was a rushed job that the battery supplier was barely able to properly pass the burn test on the batt packs on time to fit the rollout schedule. Next time Samsung learn that the Note brand itself is already strong enough. It does not need to be named ridiculously to match against the likes of iPhone or sync with iPhone's release window.

So your not going to get another Samsung product after this fiasco? 35 phones reported with exploding batteries? Well I'm still getting the Note 7 after its a power house and no phone companies are without teething problems Samsung,Apple and Nokia to mention a few.......

I personally wouldn't trust the Note 7 after this fiasco and certainly wouldn't want to wait for another one after the hassle of buying it. There are other manufacturers out there who offer as good and better products.
