The thing being yes Smasungs software development is poor but their hardware is excellent, you can modify software, mod and hack it, but you cannot upgrade the memory, processor and capabilities in mobile phones.
With Android being open sourced and so long as you can get the drivers to run on it the sky is the limit. This is the beauty of open sourced software, something that 98% of apple users cannot comprehend due to apple locking down and limiting the software on their devices.

Sounds great. I'll have to read up on the technicalities of it, but from the overview of what the process it, sounds like a great addition to an already fantastic phone.
Now just waiting for 2.2.........

Flash light makes exellent strong light, and the screen makes low diming light and hard to see anything on the dark.

How interesting that the iphone 4 contains parts developed by Samsung...
LCD screen “Retina Display” made by LG (including screens for iPad), then they A4 processor is also made by Samsung although the design of Apple own , not to mention the battery in the iPhone 4 and components of a “multi-layer ceramic capacitors” were also made by Samsung as well.

SGS is not a copy-cat.. It's "innovation" and "revolution". Just like a Lambo competing with a Ferrari.
..at the end of the day, Customer satisfaction worth their money is still the best buy. That is why there is competition..to create competitive products. Who cares if people say yours is a copy-cat, as long as your happy with the product you have.
SGS is simply amazing. You don't have to void warranty by "jailbreaking" just to get paid apps for free. Explore your SGS, do research.. You'll love your smartphone..that's all..hahaha..;]

Whats with the bashing of brands?
First of all I would like to point out NOW WHERE in the topic in question does it mention Apple or even HTC. So where did this come about?
Second this is officially certified for connecting devices by WiFi, even if other devices can do it, it is not officially supported and is at end users risk as such is NOT certified.
Thirdly all iPhone users slating off Samsung, pick up your iPhones and destroy them, 1/3rd of the components in the devices are BUILT by Samsung. If you do not do this you are the bigger fool of being a hypocrite. Or at the very least destroy the processor and all RAM and flash memory modules, this includes the original iPhone, 3G and 3GS.
To put it simple, if you are not happy about GSMarena.com being about all phones it's tuf. This site is for news on Samsung, apple, sony, HTC, blackberry etc. It should be about time we get along and get used to it. I really don't know why people are getting so worked up over something Irrelevant to them!!

[deleted post]The design of IPhone is great so it is not anything bad to try and copy the design from the best design.
N8 is the first phone with USB-on-the-go but if customers really want this then many Android-phones will soon have this.
Galaxy S is feeling plastic, but that is good because that meens it is very lightweigt, and rhe buildquality is still excellent, even though plastic, and the display is scratch-resistant Gorilla-glass. The gpu is extremly fast, and with the latest Froyo-firmware, jpa, the problems with lag is gone even though the irrelevant quadrant score is not the highest.

[deleted post]I'm not loyal to any brand, I'd buy HTC if the moment was right, or Apple if the iPhone were cheaper and if Apple actually gave you the freedom you deserve with a product you buy.
But if the Samsung Galaxy S is the first Wi-Fi Direct phone, it is. There's nothing of 'praise' or subjectiveness to that, the first device with a specific technology is simply the first.
Get over it already that it's not the iPhone with this technology, it's even questionable if the iPhone would get this technology because Apple wants to restrict it's customers. If it's implemented it's only implemented in a restricted way because Apple can't have its customer transfer files or anything of that matter.

I recently had an experience using the new iphone from a friend. I was a SGS user for about 3 months now. Having used to the 4" screen then to the 3.5" sucks. I love the "live wallpapers" of SGS..iphone is so boring!..Flash of iphone is compensated by the night mode of SGS camera. It can create decent night pics as long as there's enough light in the background. Why spend much for iphone when a decent xenon flash equipped digicam is just dirt cheap in the corner.
Iphone4 is very heavy..very slippery..Honestly, its design is similar to that of the 2g. If only the 3gs has dual-cameras, it looks more modern than iP4, has more striking appeal from afar..
..the metal frame is a letdown(very heavy)..i wish iP4 could have a glowing apple logo like the macbooks.. that would make it appealing then.

"The widespread adoption of Wi-Fi in new classes of smaller devices has made the need for working ad hoc networking much more important. Even without a central Wi-Fi hub/router, it would be useful for a laptop computer to be able to wirelessly connect to a local printer. Although the ad hoc mode was created to address this sort of need, the lack of additional information for discovery makes it difficult to use in practice.
Although systems like UPnP and Bonjour provide many of the needed capabilities and are included in some devices, a single widely supported standard was lacking, and support within existing devices was far from universal. A guest using their smart phone would likely be able to find a hot spot and connect to the Internet with ease, perhaps using Protected Setup to do so. But the same device would find streaming music to a computer or printing a file might be difficult, or simply not supported between differing brands of hardware." - Wikipedia

Led flash in phones are useless, maybe for video recording in a 2-3 meters area, but for taking pictures is junk, xenon flash FTW. Wave have flash and you can't do really nothing with it!
