The Android platform was born on this day three years ago, on 5 November 2007, and the first device based on the platform was introduced nearly one year later, on 22 October when the T-Mobile G1 saw daylight for the...

                      Thank you!

By Google slowing down, there will be more time for manufactures to settle in and customize android versions that work properly and efficiently on their phones which will result in a higher satisfaction for the customers.

After all let's face it, Google are not making their own phones, so most of their versions are going to cellphone makers and that's the reason why I stated that Google needs to give the manufactures a break and not pressure them, because this will only result in getting a bad experience or image of android from the users perspective.

We still didn't get Gingerbread 2.3 for god sakes, and people are speaking about honeycomb 3.0 and icecream 4.0.
Is this supposed to get me excited ??! No of course it's just stupidity in my point of you. Being slow is bad and rushing like crazy is crazier, just take it step by step and make it efficient.

                      Peace

Its getting really difficult for the manufacturers to catch up with android already. Google should slow down a bit and give manufacturers a break. Afterall this is in interest of everybody then - most importantly the users. Who want a buggy os crawling inside their so expensive handsets? And this custon UI story should come to an end too. Stock UI is a way to go, will also help to minize update delays. More apps should be encouraged which replaces the overall UI (e.g. shell replacement in windows) and not just the launcher app. That way everybody will feel happy. Manufacturers won't be burdened to make custom UIs and the user too will have always a choice. Hope that happens!

Brian, 06 Nov 2010 Dude I totally agree with you, otherwise why do you think... moreMaybe it's about how Google market their OS. They probably should just release updates without giving it names so it's more like a fix and updates rather than a version. Google release them probably without much issues on Nexus, they just didn't count on the phone manufacturers and telephone companies to screw them up. Come on, don't you wish Google put better features into their OS to improve user experience with what your phone can offer?

i personally love how the andorid os is evolving faster than any other os but yes i agree the manufacturers are definitely lagging in terms of making their custom UI's work
in my opinion manufacturers should just use the stock os and leave out the custom UI's (i.e. just let google do all the work lol)

Dude I totally agree with you, otherwise why do you think I bought an android handset in the first place. But what bothers me is that I think google should give the manufactures a break just to settle things well.

Are you aware that the SGS and Motorola droid had many issues and problems that they needed to fix with 2.2 ? Also, se x10 users were so desperate to get an upgrade to 2.1, and they finally got it after feeling behind for ages. You your self experienced this with your moto handset.

My point is that, if android wants to make customers happy, they should also give the manufactures sometime to get their act together. Because what will happen my friend, is that the people will demand the latest versions and the manufactures will release it before proper testing in order to show that they are updated, and the result is that the consumer will suffer.

I have read so many complains in se, samsung, moto forums due to problems regarding updates or bugs in the os, so do you think this is the way to go ? Make people suffer more and more. All I'm saying is that google should slow down a little, and not update like crazy, by next year maybe we will have ten os if google will continue you with this approach.

I'm hearing about android honey comb and icecream and we still didn't get gingerbread, what the heck is happening ?! Like I said before, not cool google.

Yes many of the iphone customers are noobs, however, most of them are happy with what they have and are not facing many problems like android users. People keep bashing ios because what it lacks, however, let's face it the apple customers are happy and satisfied and this is what really matter.

I'm not saying android users are not happy, but most of them are suffering and this is a fact! Please take a look at their forums and you will see how much unsatisfied customers there are. And I'm speaking about android owners, not haters or people who come to bash.

                                      Peace

"integrated" companies (Apple, Nokia, RIM) are more successful than "modular" (Microsoft/WP7 & Google/android).
