I was told by Samsung employees, that if I feel that my current Samsung device is not performing well, I should consider buying a NEWER Samsung device, they are Reluctant to offer support for any device that is more than 12 months old.

      That's good news, so all Galaxy S7 users should expect the update to Android 7 in about 18 months or more (as usual), and Galaxy S6/S5/S4 users... well Samsung will probably tell you to buy an S7 if you want Android 7. Samsung is the worst when it comes to updates.

              AnonD-304137, 21 Sep 2016I tell you, I can last the whole day without having battery... morei dont use my phone to get laid or score girls, so i dont care if its a bit thicker :) but yeah, i was sad that they didnt put a 4000 mah battery in the normal s7 too, and the s7 active isnt for europe :( but im looking for the new leeco that will be presented today, just bc of the 5000 mah battery and powerful hw :) they say the os might not be the best, but hey, i didnt root my s7 ;) and if the phone will last 2 days on battery with all that power, its worth it.

While they are a little rough around the edges, they're very good, especially on the support and RMA side of things.

I use the S7 edge alarms every single day. My daily morning alarms buzz right on time. Plus whenever i need a reminder of something, i use the alarm and it goes off right on time.

                      I have a Exynos 32GB version and own the phone since launch in India.

                          Zenodroid, 20 Sep 2016i use the alarm on my s7 every morning, lunch, workout and ... moreI tell you, I can last the whole day without having battery anxiety on the S7 active. Its the best phone for battery life if you try to keep it to average usage. The only downside is it is thick and a little heavier, but it beats carrying the battery bank and power charger with you all DAY! Its just a S7 slapped with a bigger case and bigger battery + one active button and a physical return and BACK button . I hope it lasts me at least 3-4 years.

                                  We know the issue stems from faulty assembledge of battery components.
                                  This wasn't to do with beating Apple to market; they already had that lined up; articles trying to connect these 'dots' are pressing what sounds like a plausible scenario.
                                  When us techies repost this garbage, we give it creedence.

                                  There wasn't anymore 'testing' to do!
                                  The fault, as infrequent as it occurs, in conditions that are 'a little randomised' (non genuine cables/chargers/ and 'quickcharge', being my 'best guess') which may have presented in one phone per production line per day, wouldn't have revealed themselves through 'further testing'.

                                  Samsungs only sin here was cheaper battery assembledge.
                                  Given we all day how expensive their phones are, and how the benefit of shaving ten cents in raw cost, per unit, adds up to millions of dollars profit.
                                  Even with cheap battery assembledge, most battery plants 'get it right'.

                                  Could this have been a dick employee sabotaging? Yes.
                                  More likely human error.... and the reality is it has happened in such small quantities.
                                  Gone are the days of taking many many moons to make millions of sales.

                                  Good phone, bad press.
                                  When press stops being bad, it will still be a good phone.

                                  To make out like the error happened directly or indirectly due to the iphone... nope.

                                    Well done to Samsung. The sooner the better
