Anonymous, 22 Sep 2016sony is so poor. that's why google dont trust them.and htc isnt? dude go read the financial earnings of both Sony & htc, you'll get to know who is poor. Also, i am saddened to see how ill-informed people have rapidly increased here at GSMArena and comment more often.

Basically, Google is trying to sell a lesser phone at the same price as iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7.
              Got it.
I guess that's what you get from HTC, an OEM that tries to sell a 2013 chip (snapdragon 400) as new 2016 phone.

                Crap, not good enough...

                  Nice

These Pixel G Phones are really starting to take shape. They sound exciting, look exciting with a well overdue hit of colour and personality and the specs are sounding very solid. Every bit of worth as the higher end priced phones but here's hoping its modest. People always complain but the apple is well over 1500.00 in Australia so if the Goggle HTC marriage is Half that I would be singing as the quality looks stellar.
I'm hoping for the maintenance of the elegance of the A9 curved glass to metal frame for smoothness and a blue option thrown in there would not go astray. Cant wait for more

Here you are calling Samsung as if it's their thing. Samsung just got the hang of waterproofing recently so mind where you point your worship.

Samsung offers just 2 phones with IP68 and just in this year 2016, so what's there to hype, jeez. The S7 active is water hazard prone so fail. S7 is just as reliable as Xperia M4 bcos of speaker water lodge so talk less.

That's nice and all, but come on Google! Samsungs have been ip68 for a few models, Apple just adopted ip67, and Sonys have had ip67/68 for at least 3 years. Coming out with an ip53 phone in the current market is just pathetic, especially when all other leaks point to a phone in the $700 price range, but with none of the $700 features.

Ugh, I really want Google to come out with a competitive, mainstream phone, but this is just one more nail in the coffin. If Google truly wants to become a major player, they're going to have to step up their game. At the moment, this just looks like an overpriced op3.

And Samsung offers phones with IP68 certification. So why mention Apple, which does not withstand water as well as Samsung?

Anyways Apple forbids iPhone 7 users to submerge their phone, so it is like the Pixel (I bet they will not be called Pixel, because Pixel is a Chromebook, so maybe Pixel S or something)
