iPhone 4 is the most reliable yet breakable smartphone out there

10 November, 2010
SquareTrade, the largest independent warranty provider, rated some of the most popular smartphones out there by their reliability and as it turns out, Apple's iPhone 4 suffers from the least non-accident malfunctions...

[deleted post]Iphone is classified as a SMART phone, smart being the key word. A SMART phone is meant to be an all rounder. A SMART phone is a multi function piece of kit which endeavours to combine as many communication types into one little package hence emailing becomes as important as making a phone call. Basically a SMART phone is like shrinking a PC into an hand held devise and adding phone functions to it, the phone ain't the same no more let's move on.
If the Iphone 4 is Sub standard devise then the rest are surely double sub or even triple sub standard. Believe me Sub standard is Nokia N97
I use Android and love it but I appreciate the boundaries that Apple keep pushing.
Anybody can come here and claim they've used the Iphone, so .....

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2010tell me what was the news about the ip4's reliability?.. u ... morethe so called experts that think a phone that leaves the factory with a fault which requires an extra peice of hardware to rectify is the most reliable phone on the market, what a joke!! Dont get me wrong I like the iPhone and I think its a good peice of kit, infact I wouldnt even mind having one if i was given it, but theres too much bull sh*it going on trying to convince everyone its the best thing since sliced bread when it really isn't.

Despite bad press, rumours by haters, iPhone 4 has simply blown away its competitors, who have no answer. The iPhone 5 will just steamroll the competition.

Android itself doesn't have iPhone to fear tho, as the users are completely different. I feel that they will have their market share stolen back by WP7, given that the manufacturers are exactly the same. Next year, Google and Microsoft are going to be at loggerheads, trying to woo HTC, Samsung, Motorola etc to give them preferential treatment.

I would have bought the iPhone 4, but the prospect of returning to a closed ecosystem of the iOS turns me off. Unless the current Android Froyo port to iPhone comes to the iP4, I will stay away from it for now.

iPhone 4 has been out for months and months guys, give it a rest with the fear mongering. Also, just to point out, the free case program expired on 30 Sep, so those who bought afterwards....... how come no massive public outcry for returns?

The phones work, period. SquareTrade is a warranty provider. Know what that means? It means they provide insurance! If they say a faulty phone is reliable, who suffers. Them! Why would anyone do that to themselves? lol. That's what happens when you stop using logic and keep spouting the same repetitive nonsense without thinking.

personally, i buy phones based on my own hands on experience.. and after checking out as many expert opinions as possible.. i will emphasize 'expert opinions'
but obviously everyone has their own opinions..but after my own i choose the experts
apparently they think the reliability is pretty good

Anonymous, 11 Nov 2010If you want a phone that's intended to just make phone call... moreSmartphones are, by definition, all-in-one communication devices. Of course they could do multiple functions and do them well. However, I do not agree on utilizing a smartphone primarily for its secondary features, and just leave the phone features as an afterthought. I've seen people sporting iPhone 3G's but they only use them for the App Store, when they instead use something else as a phone, say a RAZR or an N95.

I must admit I do game on my phone, but only Gameboy Advance ROM's and those alone could be run on any decent smartphone plus an emulator. I don't need those fancy-schmancy 3D games since my PC can run Crysis anyway.

X6, 11 Nov 2010too right, people tend to forget what a mobile phone was in... moreIf you want a phone that's intended to just make phone calls then stay away from "SMARTPHONES" simples, because with Smartphone all available services are equally important. Making a phone call is just as important as sending an email, going online to check stock prices, play soduku, take photos, record videos and do some editing, IT'S A SMARTPHONE, GET IT!
Again I say to you if making or receiving a call is much more important then maybe look phones that are not classified as Smartphones.
Here is proof that the Iphone 4 with it's antenna issues is still much reliable than other phones but "IHATERS" will never accept any kind of proof provided them. Am amazed by it all.
