Nokia N8 gets severely tortured, lives to tell the story

11 November, 2010
A unibody anodized aluminum chassis and a reinforced glass over the panel make the Nokia N8 certainly look like one of the sturdiest smartphones around. And the Finnish company is keen to show just how...

If you need functionality, go for Nokia, if you want to "look cool" in a night club go for iPhone or some other fancy stuff.

Same like computers, PC will do all the job, but if you want some punk ass spiritual enlightenment, buy a Mac and STFU.

Is it really so hard to understand that some people use those phones for work and many important things, not all of us buy phones to brag...

xitam, 11 Nov 2010i've nokia n8 and n82. the body of my n82 is 500 times bet... moreI agree with deep space bar in regards to the durability of nokia.

I accidentally dropped my 5800 onto a tile floor. It still works. No cracks or major damage, just a tiny dent on the corner.

          I have my eyes set on n8, c6-01, c7, n900.

This is the reason why the N8 was delayed. Shame they didn't concentrate more on the UI. LOL

[deleted post]What are you doing in this section, if you dont like n8 its ok but why are you so jealous of this phone. please dont tell us ur dreams and can you show video in support of your claim.
Its really surprising that you people are so jealous of nokia and even not able to understand the truth that nokia rules the market , just dont bother about what will happen in future, time will tell us. For us functionality matter more than mere looks.

I dont understand why ppl have to feel so strongly abt it. Some company (i.e Nokia) made a phone(i.e N8) and tested it to see how it handles a simulated fall for 2 minsor more to see if their engineering feat plays out. According to "this" test it does. Your parents couldn't do such drop tests on you when they engineered you but you all seem to live a life "untested" and doing fine apparently.
So why get all teethed out and post such strongly negative opinions. It's just a test. The phone passed "this" particular test. You wouldn't dare trying it out with your own phone. So watch and learn for free. These infos are provided for us to help us understand what we pay for. It's not to irritate us to the point that companies need to drop their phones from tall buildings to find out if it survives the fall. You wouldn't, neither will any phone. Even if it did, it would be circumstantial. It can't be repeated. Science works with results and repetition. Not emotions. So why get emotional. Relax ppl. Enjoy the info and thank the ppl who work hard to provide them.
