AnonD-450899, 25 Sep 2016I dont agree with the pricing pattren as mi5 base version (... morethere is no OIS, no IR, no GLASS BACK-PANEL(one of the most costly part) in mi 5s, so pricing can be near current mi 5..

AnonD-589637, 26 Sep 2016pressure sensitive display!! means stylus support??Umm no it doesn't... It means something similar to the 3d touch on Apple's iPhones. The pressure sensor for a stylus would commonly be in the stylus itself like the Samsung Note 7's stylus

AnonD-315724, 25 Sep 2016Xiaomi really has to get their act together with regard to ... moreare you a samsung fan? I think the MI 5s shall have an Mi6s and so on. the rest is fine with your list. And yeah in countries like India and China where more than 50% of population and live and where more than thousands of manufacturers of phones are present. you have to keep making phones to compete with others. there are more than 3 categories in the Asian market. and they are price wise. Like 100$,200$,300$,400$ and so on. I hope you get. And forget the S moniker. Because in China they already have more than thousand of S phones. Just check Gionee.

I dont agree with the pricing pattren as mi5 base version (32gb+3gb) starts at $350 at that point the minimum price of mi5s starts at $450 to $470

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2016of course it does. It only covers one (1) of the used three... moreThey're actually not bad at optimization, but they use different principles for each ROM. Developer ROM is managed using agile principle (quick update, quick respond to feedback) and is updated weekly. Therefore it can be better or worse on every update. Stable ROM is managed using classic waterfall principle (no release until considered no bugs) and is updated much longer period (typically 1 month, but could be longer). Therefore it usually only gets the goods from developer ROM, especially because they will release alpha/beta version to random users who are expected to report if something doesn't work before releasing the final version.

AnonD-312515, 24 Sep 2016Okay I still want a big battery and get my moneys worth tho... moreIf the display is still 1080p, it will last more than a day, probably 2 days. If QHD, then I'm not sure.

Xiaomi really has to get their act together with regard to the naming of their phones if the want to go after markets outside of China. Mi, RedMi, Red-Mi Note, some with a 'Pro', some with an 'S'... so confusing!
First, why not keep it simple and get up to speed with the numbers. For most folks, any phone with a '5' in the name is two generations old, regardless of what Snapdragon chip it's using.
OnePlus got it right. They only made 4 phones so it's a One, Two and Three with an oddball X in the mix. Their next phone will obviously be a Four.
Xiaomi should keep it's three tiers but simplify the names:
                        Mi-S=Flagship
Mi-N=Midrange (Today known as 'the Red Mi Note')
Mi-R=Entry (Today known as the 'Red Mi)
This phone should have been called the 'Mi-S7'. It's successor should be the 'Mi-S8', and so on. Xiaomi should also consider introducing all three tiers at the same time, all with the same number. For example, the next event would introduce the Mi-S7, Mi-N7 and Mi-R7.
...I get the S, my wife get's the N and my teenage kids get the R.
                        What's so hard about that?

i figuered it out ,if they have dual camera then both the base and plus Mi5s will be same size and that will be bigger than the old Mi5 since i cant see them having any spare place for that in same old mi5 body ofcourse there is the extra battery size too 3450 like perivious rumor ,they have mi5 4gb +128 gb which i beleive isnt better than the 6gb+64 new one and since the new one will be cheaper makes u think thay it cant be the sqme size or buying the 128gb model then will make no sence ...... all that assumptions of my part is based on rumors till now and that they cant put the new camera module in 5.15 body size .

Meto, 24 Sep 2016Very depends on display technology, software optimisation etc.I don't think this phone will be using AMOLED or any other power efficient display technology. Plus I hear it'll be a QHD panel too; 3500 mAh is the bare minimum for a phone like this and even then I'm highly skeptical.

leledumbo, 24 Sep 2016Big battery is useless if the efficiency is not optimized (... moreOkay I still want a big battery and get my moneys worth though. All this horsepower mean nothing if it doesn't last you a whole day.
