leledumbo, 24 Sep 2016Big battery is useless if the efficiency is not optimized (... moreof course it does. It only covers one (1) of the used three (3) LTE-bands (across Europe for instance) so it spends most of its time on 3G or HSDPA/UMTS (if that too is even possible), and therefore it uses less battery. Not to mention they where smart enough NOT to got for power-hungry QHD screens that also uses more CPU-power (and thus even more battery-power) to drive so many pixels.

I fear that this time would be different (because as you wrote optimisation isn't something these chinese are good at) :-(

AnonD-216319, 24 Sep 2016Exciting news for sure , let's hope global markets get it s... morewith FULL global LTE capabilites too. otherwise it'll be just as stupid as the M5. Good on paper but only usefull in asia. :-(

In fact why do these Chinese even bother coming to European and US-trade shows when you 1) can't buy their phones in these regions anyway, and 2) when they dont properly support cell-phone coverage across all bands (including LTE 4G).

A Note 4 user, 24 Sep 2016Bravo!!! flat screen, SD 821, 6GB Ram y 256GB storage, a... moreNope, Note's (and Galaxy S's too for that matter) should also have had USER REPLACEABLE batteries and IR-blaster (why introduce a feature when taking it away later???).
Not to mention that PHONE-manufacturers must STOP wasting their time (and cost and our battery-life) on QHD (or UHD too for that matter). The current GPU's can't handle that amount of pixels smoothly. Desktop machines are NOW (09/2016) starting to have the power to drive QHD -resolution graphics at smooth frame-rates and then ONLY with the top-dog video-hardware. While these stupid phones regressed from upto 28fps (galaxy S5) to a ridiculous 15fps (galaxy S7)!

IMHO top dog phones in 2016 should have at LEAST 60fps in FHD under ANY circumstances and 30fps in QHD otherwise DON'T bother with those QHD screens

            just my 2 cents.

A Note 4 user, 24 Sep 2016Bravo!!! flat screen, SD 821, 6GB Ram y 256GB storage, a... moreSamsung is not chinese. I would rather have better software, better display better build quality and better services than something that cheap, just specs on paper.

that's what Note 7 should have been.

AnonD-442781, 24 Sep 2016The main shame is their phone looks too much like an iPhone... morethey will not think about iphone as they have much smaller bezels...so don't worry about that!!

AnonD-312515, 24 Sep 2016Anything less than 3500 is a major no-no. Big battery is useless if the efficiency is not optimized (also related to used SoC). My 3000 mAh Mi 5 stands much longer (up to 2x, 1.5x in average) than my previous 3080 mAh Mi 4c.

ddd, 24 Sep 2016nice option will if they support win 10 mobile on this deviceask microsoft for that, it was always microsoft that injects its windows into xiaomi devices, not the other way around. well, their money is surely useful for xiaomi.

yuri, 24 Sep 2016300$ is some insane pricing but I doubt it will be the same... moreI doubt it would ever be launched in India. They are dumping 32GB underclocked version of Mi5 in India. Don't keep any hope that they'll be launching the high end Mi5s in India.

This phone is attractive in price but Xiaomi is not for everyone. Unless you want to look out for updates on the internet that are in chineese you should stay away from it. Do not expect to be as good as v20 or note7 or whatever because that is plain stupid because this is said to be 30p usd while others are 2.5 or 3 x more expensive. Xiaomi can be good and frustrating at the same time.
