Samsung Galaxy Note 2 catches fire on IndiGo flight

23 September 2016
Samsung is now investigating yet another fire caused by a Samsung phone, however, I wouldn’t put the blame on the phone just yet. We’ll get back to why in a moment.

when samsung catches fire it's not because of the phone but due to swollen batteries
but when iphone has some problems the problem is with apple no doubt
great sammies

Dear GSM Arena. If a phone is 3 yrs old does that mean the battery starts to swell?. If that is the case then there should be millions of phones catching fire. Cases of phones catching fire has been reported for few mobile brands, but for Samsung this is going way above anybody's expectation. If a phone is more than 3 yrs old is it not safe to use?. Almost every phone comes with sealed battery. If this is a case then every user either have to buy a new phone or get the phone serviced every year. Companies like Samsung make millions from their mobile business and cases like this make them an unreliable company. It certainly proves that they are lacking on talent and research.

From the photo, it looks like nothing happened to Note 2 just battery is burned and this is not right. If a battery starts burning in a phone, the phone will burn too.

Samsung says don't fly with phones? Lol. Samsung sucks. Just buy other phone and take with you everywhere. HTC and Sony are good examples that never lag unlike Samsung.

mir, 24 Sep 2016Bad times for Samsung. Almost everyone will be benefitting ... moreThis case for Note 2 is not a slip up. Phone has been around for this long then it catches fire, It is probably more of a user problem. Funny why we see an isolated case from Samsung being published and yet we don't see the ones from Apple being posted.

I've been using Samsung products for YEARS (including several Notes) and i've never had a single major issue. But replaced a note 2 battery once. Every brand/manufacturer has issues. Even that so-called mighty iphones have also exploded while in pocket. So just cut them some slack. Just because some one had an issue with a product does not mean everybody is experiencing it. And this is a Note 2 we are talking about. It could've been user's fault..., so plzz...don't go full retard bro.

This could be due to a knock-off battery... Our Note 2 has been working fine for 3 years now. Problem is, the battery sold by samsung for the notes 4 and below could be the ones made also by samsung subsidiaries which caused the "explosion" of some of the Note7 units.

No wonder it catches fire because Samsung always use low quality raw materials in their electronics. My washing machines is damaged after only 4 months of usage.
My advice is DO NOT BUY any SAMSUNG PRODUCTS!
Samsung is a disgrace to the mobile community.
Hope this company being take over by more quality companies like HTC or LG.

i'm not defending the design decision but this is a case scenario in support for the non removable battery..
