Weekly poll results: 3.5mm jack, gone, but not forgotten

25 September 2016
It appears most Apple fans already miss the long-standing analog standard, making the removal kind of forced.

Apple needs to make iPouch to keep iPhone 7 and other assets all together...

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2016Multiple ports, yes, but we all know that's not happening a... moreYes the DAC should be external. But IMO this is better as the sound quality will depend on the headphones made rather rhan constrained by the device. Also it will be difficult to put the DAC in earphones.

Plus, i'm still not convinced usb would be a practical idea for headphones (the dac would have to be external, if i'm not misstaken?).

Actually the results show people are sheeple, as less than 50% wouldn't make any compromise. Shame, but nothing unexpected.

Same here, there are enough places too improve smartphones but no, they remove a perfectly working 3,5mm jack...

Soon, iTooth. Future is Apple having nothing standard with others.

People are going to cry about it for a while but soon there will be no 3.5 mm jack on any device. Apple still did the wrong thing using their own lightining jack ,out of greed. They could have used usb type 3, like they used it in their macbook. Future should be only one port for everything(multiple of that one port on the device) i.e, usb 3.

everything is going wireless, so im going wireless...

getting rid of a technology to usher in a new standard is a good policy but thats valid only if the newer standard must be better than the olden one
the dedicated iphone fans may go for an iphone 7 series but the lack of a conventional audio port will discourage new iphone buyers...i have recently bought an ipad pro, and i would never have even considered it if the only audio solution is lightning port or bluetooth..
even if the tech industry undergoes a transformation it would leave the general population with 2 device sets, one that goes with the new usb type c port(since getting rid of the 3.5mm jack was intel's crazy idea in the first place) and one with the lightning port..
even now there is no guarantee on the audio quality of the headphones connected by the digital ports because they need an onboard digital to analog converter, which is usually the area where companies try to cut costs..the average person in my locality buys headphones worth about 10$, i myself buy ones near 20-30$ because no matter the cost they dont last very long...with the removal of the 3.5mm jack iphone is on more step forward in isolating itself from the rest of the tech world.
now i have a question for any iphone owners out there..do you use 3rd party bluetooth headphones?? do they pair nicely with iphone? i have paired them before on an iphone 4s, and 5, but i want to know if apple has changed its policy

Just some quotes from Steve Jobs :

''It's not the customer's job to know what they want ''
                                    - So Crapple only want's your money , to bleed you dry if possible .

''Good artists copy , Great artists steal ''
                                    - Then goes and sues everyone in the industry on the things they have stolen from others in the first place ..what an irony .

-Fact is that Crapple never invented anything ...word ''Inovation'' in Crapple's dictionary actually means ''steal'' . PROOF HERE : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CW0DUg63lqU ( It's only 39 seconds and worth time to watch )
