When will people learn for good that you're NEVER listening to digital sound but full analog always...
THIS IS NOT A BATTLE OF ANALOG VS DIGITAL. IT'S JUST WHERE THAT CONVERSION HAPPENS.
It's always stored digitally on your phone, and it will always be converted to analog to your speakers. There's absolutely no exception to that. Where the conversion happens doesn't affect the quality in one bit, but the hardware that does the task instead is what affects and the mid conversions that happen digitally, if they even happen.
The placing of the converter will only change power efficiency, packaging and pricing. And this is where the removal of the 3.5mm jack brought NO improvements, and had NO reasons to be done. The bigger haptic feedback motor could be engineered such that all would fit, it's just a forcing market for Apple only accessories. Even if it wasn't a proprietary connector, it would still be an inconvenience and hassle. I remember how it was back when no phones had the jack, and I don't want to go back that times, no matter the manufacturer.
People are quick to come with the "poor thing Apple, they innovate and get all the hate". While we all bashed the same way the Moto Z, the LeEco one, and the Oppo R5 for the same decision of removing that jack.

I got a free Powerbeats 2 Wireless headphones from by buying an iPad Pro 9.7. So I don't quite care about the headphone jack being removed.

At first I will stay with the 3.5mm to lightning adapter pair with my headphone / earphone I owned. Since I'm not kind of person who charge phone while do something else unless it is really necessary so this solution is enough for me. In the future the possibilities is big for me to go wireless. Not just with my iphone but with my android phone I do the same.

People who hate Apple, also hate ridiculous impractical "inventions", so Apple pr not, it's still unacceptable for us. It's really not (Yet) about digital vs analog, but about current real-life disadantages.

I think more people selected the analog 3.5 mm option just because of the hate for iphone. If the polling would be for digital vs analog, results could have been different. Also i saw this on the case for note 7 returning polls. One option was for returning of note 7 and other was of other smartphones. But on that option there was picture of an iphone. So people opted for return of note 7. If the picture was of pixel or v20, results could have been different. So here if u want to get result A for a polling then just put a picture of iphone on option B. Option A will get more votes.

jack removal is just all about money, even JerryRigEverything tells the reason that removing headphone jack will force earphone makers to make their end cable for lightenijg connector and so they will need to pay apple for doing so. Just watch his video, you, 'advanced technology wireless isheeps'

I definitely love that devices are not connected by cables like 360camera, s watch, now charging and earphones. They are still in the way, getting tangled, damaged or forgotten. Only problem is that there is less to choose from and it means more pricy device and that you have to let go of old ones you are used to. I just hope they will compete in specs also in this field not just in that that they got some wireless device, which probably if compared to old ones has lower performance as in quality. That thing is more important than some new tech. Its like trying to exchange yours vinyl for some truly lossless format and play it then - may be pricy, missing some frequencies and playback device may not play it too true because of use of computed converting. I also don't see apple/samsung/sony/.. saying its imperfect. Still we should care to choose/c9mpare and support best ones.

But IMO this is better as t... moreyeah thats true but that applies only for audiophile headphones..afaik a large population use general retail headphones that cost about 10-20bucks that wont have enough quality..isn't it better to keep a quality DAC rather than a somewhat useless haptic engine thats taking up all that space?? or they could stop making sub 5inch iphones and bring back the 3.5mm jack...
