Pretty great timing, with all these google products and pixels phones being released. Just saying though.

But it would be best to wait for Samsung to finish clarifying the case. And if its true that a safe Note 7 did combust, then its practically game over for it and time to move on to the upcoming S8 or to other brands, for that matter.

Its better to wait until samsung make clarification. In case note7 really explode again then its time for samsung to gather all their mobile phone department and revise and improve their department in order to avoid the same mistake and even make better and better phone.

It might have been turned off which not only sounds fishy, but worse if it was true.

You can still power off the phone and charge it with a powerbank. That still generates heat. So it isn't completely impossible to be create a fire while the phone is off.

Note7 best of the best in overall features but also worst of the worst in safety. Boycott Samsung phones for now on.

I am not defending an... moreit could be... but the phone was turned off already, that's what smells really fishy in my opinion, i hope samsung does an investigation before the real scammers (assuming this one isn't) try to take advantage

                      I smell Apple.

Well sht happens with every company, but this doesn't looks good. Do you really would like to sit on plane knowing that someone put Note 7 in baggage where it can catch on fire and bring down all plane. This is karma for Samsung non removable battery, they are making them to push peoples buy new phones every 2 years + someone can listen and watch on you 24/7 . Hope other companies will learn this lesson too.

this is stupid ...at least it's what they can do to stop the geant samsung

Before anyone starts jumping the gun. I am not defending anyone. I'm looking at this logically. If what he says is true this time round, then it's not a battery fault. It has to be a fault with the motherboard. This in turn causes the battery to short, either catching or powering off. Usually the phone become hot, or even catch fire. If that's the case then Samsung has more than batteries to worry about.

I don't believe it was a scam. I thinks this news is true and legit. But, lately, Samsung have been the victim of media hype and people kept on giving false report about the phone, so I'm not quite sure.

Air pressure, may explain second one to explode on a plane. Either the ascent or the descent. I fly model aircraft, and it is interesting to note that lipo batteries sometimes (very rare, but it DOES happen) when the aircraft is in the air. May be related?

I wonder if the batteries that have exploded not on aircraft have been moved from a high to low or the reverse location, such as being in a car as it drives down a steep hill or mountain?
