One year ago, I bought my last Samsung device... ever! No removable battery is no buy, especially after this fiasco. I'll change my nickname into LG fan from now on. My V10 is a wonderful beast. ^^ I'll keep my Note Edge until it dies (and hope it doesn't burn up before that).

Yet to see if this is the next(of many so far) scammer with wide menial media support.
Well if it's really what the media say it's very very bad for Samsung.
But the case look unreal and scam. You know how much the US authorities, and media wanna help their local brands - iPhone7 and Pixel not to be smashed by Samsung. Right?
Any dirty attacks are possible.

it doesn't say it caught fire SHORTLY after turning it off... it doesn't make a line of events after boarding and putting in his pocket could've been seconds or minutes... there's even a Period in between so it's a different sentence...

If not surely it would have cooled down sufficiently not to catch fire. In either case the phone would have been noticably excessively hot, which means the phone would not fucntion normally. I don't see how anyone could not notice that.

People need to stop defending Samsung. I tried to. Even during the recall, I knew it would be worse if the replacements were burning up too. Well that nightmare scenario is coming true.
Sure, it hasn't happened to you (yet). But it might still happen whether tomorrow or a day passed your warrsnty. And other Note7 owners who are in the same transportation as you, just increases those chances of burning up.
LG V20 or iPhone 7 Plus. Avoiding Samsung phones for the rest of my life.

I'm no detective but would it not take a fair amount of time for it to burn right through the carpet to the floor of the plane? How come no one smelt anything before it got to that point? I should imagine by that point their would have been a quite a strong smell in the plane for a quite a few seconds. It doesn't seem quite right somehow.
