AnonD-497261, 07 Oct 2016This is a great opportunity for someone to create a new bet... moreNew battery technologies are exist but, they are very very expansive at this time and manufacturers cannot supply high amount of it for mobile factories so, nobody will use them for now and phones with very high price tag only for new battery technology will not sell good

Am I THE Only one Who Thinks this Whole note 7 fiasco IS Cooperate Sabotage? Samsung is the best in the industry and certain companies cannot take it. I don't care, I'm not buying anything but samsung.

AnonD-497261, 07 Oct 2016This is a great opportunity for someone to create a new bet... moreDo you mean QNOVO? As that's the only new battery technology used in smartphones but for Li-po it sure does better than ion version of Lithium battery, Apple used them, Sony used them. But why Samsung no? Because Polymer is much more expensive than Ion one and Samsung wants to keep as much high profit they can as possible from fooling their customers

AnonD-584384, 07 Oct 2016Just ask LG for some batteries. They make better batteries.Good thing LG kept it removable but battery life is still awful. Both South Korean companies' mistakes with Samsung rushing the Note7 with a critical flaw (it isn't the battery but the faulty circuitry) and LG taking their merry time (took so long, high price, poor battery) on the V20 basically forced me to look to Apple and I can't stand them!
I looked at the iPhone 7 Plus and decided forget it. I will get the iPhone SE instead to make room to buy a PS4 slim.
SE over 7 Plus
+ Better design
+ Nearly half price
+ Last iPhone to have headphone jack
In fact, I realized why do I need surfboard size phones like the Note7, 7 Plus, and V20 for double the cost? I hate glass backs of the Note7 that scratches and smudges easily. The matte black 7/7 Plus still attracts fingerprints which makes people miss space gray which looks clean. The SE still has far greater battery life on the V20 and might even surpass the Note7 and 7 Plus. I will get an iPad mini 4 with also has much better split screen features than most "5.5-"5.7 phablets.
Most cost efficient way is to avoid any of the flagships and get the $450 iPhone SE. Then for the other $300-$400, get something else like a game console or OnePlus 3. Only reason why I don't need OnePlus 3 is because the iPhone 6s with the A9 chip still outperforms the Snapdragon 820. Apple is one-year advanced with their SoC over Qualcomm. I also don't like that size or the possible burn-in and less longevity of OLED.
Avoid the Note7 for public safety issues, uglier iPhone 6s/6s Plus, jack-less 7/7 Plus, and weak battery life of the overpriced and super delayed V20. The SE is the way to go. Then use the savings for something else like a Chinese flagship (Axon 7, Mi 5, OP3) or newer video game console. We shouldn't pay more than $500 for any phone these days.

This is a great opportunity for someone to create a new bettery tech. Li-ion has hit a wall, and while it will remain practical for many other uses, when it comes to mobile devices it's just not practical anymore. Someone should bring to market an amazing new battery tech and go after the big contracts with the major players in the smartphone/tablet/mobile game.
Also, if they're gonna continue using lithium, why not go with LiPo, or better yet, IMR!!
I vape, and my current mod has 6000mAh of LG Li(IMR) in the form of 2 18650's. Those are one of the best sellers right now in the vaping world, and if MILLIONS of people, like myself, are putting these high mAh IMR lithuim-based batteries to our mouths 50-100 times per day without incident, maybe smartphone companies should take notice. IMR is a FAR SAFER chemistry, and thanks to LG's R&D, what was once limited to 1800mAh or so, is close approaching 4000mAh in a single 18650 cell.
Dear R&D,
Come on y'all!! Get crackin' on some new hottness!!

Samsung should just use LG batteries. 90% of Samsung devices in our family have battery issues. Most of them are swollen pushing the backing or screen outward. Now 100% of the LGs have no battery issues. 3 year old LG G2 still on original battery. A G3 being overcharged and abused for 2 years still original battery. A G4 is still going on its original battery. Within a year or 2 all the Samsung phones either don't charge or have a swollen battery with horrendous battery life. I even have an old Samsung D900i laying around with...guess what.... a swollen battery as well as an S7350. What is it with Samsung and batteries????
