Jimmy chow, 11 Oct 2016Thats what you get sammy for not selling the Note 5 worldwide.. Some brands aren't selling their phones worldwide either, (e.g. LG, Sony, HTC, Huawei, etc.) but most of them don't have issues about battery

STILL the best phone of 2016, just hope something like this doesn't lose Samsung too many customers as theres literally nothing else they could have done other than release the phone perfect and ready, props for making a tough decision like this and keeping the customer at heart rather than profit.

I stand with Samsung no matter what. RIP to the cutest and best mobile device in the entire world. I hate to admit Apple will use this opportunity to sell it's iphone 7 and I think Samsung should postpone the release date of the S8 till September 2017.

I love iPhones... But I also love the Notes (Samsung notes only... Not the copycats!!!) =)

AnonD-66956, 11 Oct 2016dont worry guys sammy is a good company just trust them. s8... moreI'm a Sony fan but I'm still hoping for Samsung to get back straight away with their next flagship lineups. Though their S7 and S7 Edge, along with their mid rangers and budgets might help their sales keep up

They could have reduced the battery capacity by 10% and the charge rate by 10%. Or they could have used a different battery manufacturer. I guess they've figured nobody's going to buy Note 7 anyway, so it's best to discontinue it altogether.

In phone history, this is probably the saddest news since Nokia went down with the ship teaming with Microsoft. Or the death of webOS. Both happened in summer of 2011. Should we feel sad? Not really. It's just a phone. I would rather have Steve Jobs back from the dead than this phone that can harm people. This lesson should make Samsung prepare pitting its flagships against iPhone 8 next year. 2017 should be an amazing year for many flagships.

I read comments on Android Central and it seems happy owners are both sad and ticked off about it all. Samsung put everyone in a bad position and difficult dilemma. But these are just phones. Disposal throwaways that gets better every six months. The Note7 wasn't that much of an improvement anyway. It used a half-year old SoC from the S7 series. It had an iris scanner. It really wasn't that much better than a S7 edge.

People will move on from this fiasco. For some of us, it will take time to trust Samsung ever again. To others, just wait for the S8, Note8, and iPhone 8. Have 2016 as another year to cross out to update. This Note7 being discontinued actually makes my dilemma a little easier. So many cool gadgets are coming out in the next six months.. PS4 Pro, Nintendo NX, Galaxy X, Galaxy S8, and a Nokia Android phone.. Note7 is became one less option to worry about.

                                RIP Note 7 (August 2016 - October 2016)

Does Samsung know what actually caused these units to explode, its all very well pulling the Note series but what about other handsets are they also at risk?
