Galaxy Note7 is banned on all US flights starting tomorrow

14 October 2016
This means you simply won't be able to fly within, to, or from the US with a Galaxy Note7.

Savor, 15 Oct 2016Worse than smuggling drugs in a plane like cocaine. Stubbor... moreYou're right about the looks. Imagine having a 6 edge plus and getting angry looks from everyone on board the plane. You know some people get angry really quick and will cause a ruckus. That's why it'll be a V20 for me this time around.

Samsung tried way too hard to beat apple this year that it backfired on them. Shame since they already had such a solid following for the Note Series.

Worse than smuggling drugs in a plane like cocaine. Stubborn Note7 owners clinging on too long better listen up. Not worth with the trouble for a single phone. My choice is clearly LG V20 and iPhone 7 Plus. I can't stand iOS but Samsung clearly forced me to look into Apple. I also am crossing out the S7 edge. That phone looks too much like a Note7. Boarding a plane four times starting tomorrow and within one month including a trip from SoCal to Vegas in November.

Samsung not only screwed up with the Note7 but every dual edged phone like the 6 edge+ and S7 edge that looks like it. The dual edged phones will now be mistaken for a Note7. Samsung should not scrap the Note series but should scrap the ergonomically useless and awkward dual edge phones forever. Go back to removable battery, flat screens, and nomore glass backs. Dual edge is clearly a fashion fad that needs to be defunct like the Note7. But keep the Note series.

Boycott dual edged phones. Useless. No screen protectors for it. Slippery. Crack prone. The engineers at Samsung really wanted to make a cool-looking phone with cosmetic gimmicks. The Project Zero design engineers should be fired for coming up with high level of stupidity like that. Foldable displays will be better since the display will be protected when closed. LG has a better implementation of using a second display. The Samsung dual edge edge series needs to be quickly forgotten. Cool design for awhile but useless.

Not surprising. But i understand that people don't want to turn in an otherwise excellent phone for more inferior choices.

They may have a newer design next year, but that'll be for normal reasons. Although maybe you're right, rebranding and redesigning would help remove negative connotations to the device to some extent.

Note7 is considered to be dangerous goods that totally banned item.

Samsung needs to form a special task force like Note7buster to catch all the Note7 in wild.

Poor Samsung, they were so obsessed with outselling iPhone 7 that they destroyed themselves in the process.

This is a typical case of being so obsessed with defeating a rival that you end up in SELF DESTRUCTION without the rival even lifting a finger.
As it stands, apple doesn't even need to spend any advertising cash on the iPhone 7. Samsung has already done ALL their advertising for them.

Sammy has now joined the faceless crowd of Android OEMs who are making NEAR-ZERO profit from smartphone sales.
Until they understand that copying or trying to outsell apple is not a winning strategy.

Its not about training staff. If some dudes phone blows up on the plane samsung is no longer responsible because they told people already. Whatever fines dude gets is on him.
In the other thread people were ignoring all warnings on purpose. But i bet if there phone blows up they gonna be crying i didnt know

Samsung should put money out to have flight attendants and airlines train their staff. Why should the burden be on the airlines when it's only Samsung phones blowing up? If Samsung says no than its best to just ban all Galaxy phones on flights to be safe.

at least the comment i was replying said that they should ban all Samsung phones just cuz of that, tell me if that's not outrageous XD

But most attendants and flight personell probably isnt as tech-savvy as you and me... as long as it looks like a new nsamsung it probably will look suspicious to all attendants. I expect therefor that the next phones from samsung will get a refresh and a complete overhaul. At least the note 8 if there will be one...

not being able to travel because of my phone ? that's exactly the reason why i'm finally giving up and decided to return my "safe" note 7... i bet Note 8's commercial would have a part emphasizing the use of the phone in an airport or on a plane
